For the second taster of his upcoming project, pioneering German beatmaker FloFilz graces us not just with one but with two outstanding singles. The double single ‘Early Waves’ / ‘Nacré’ catches that unmistakable hip-hop rooted jazz sound only FloFilz can deliver. 

The artwork has been created by Indonesian illustrator Fatchurofi who caught FloFilz's attention through his work for everybody’s favourite band Khruangbin.

Exposed to music from a young age, FloFilz grew up in Belgium before moving to Aachen, Germany where he studied the violin and classical music, while also playing in orchestras. In addition to his parents, who were both musicians, he cites Hip-Hop icons A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla and Madlib as key influences. Recognised as one of Germany’s most in-demand producers, the self-taught bedroom beatmaker has built his reputation led by his seductive blend of Lo-Fi, Soul and Jazz-influenced groves. Taking great inspiration from London's Jazz scene he has previously collaborated with the likes of MF DOOM, Alfa Mist, Barney Artist, Ivan Ave, Blu, JuJu Rogers, Biig Piig, K.A.A.N., J.Lamotta and K, Le Maestro.

The  keyboard player and music producer from Utrecht, Netherlands, studied jazz piano at the Utrecht Conservatory of Music and started playing keyboards for RnB artists such as Noa Lauryn, JELISA, and GINGE. His background in soul and R&B is evident on 'are you there', with its hushed synthesizer. Mixed with jazz arrangements, the track is a tribute to the present moment, ideal for creating a comfortable, reassuring atmosphere.

Ahead of his EP, Michael Benedikt presents "Monday Groove." Known for playing live with various projects such as the Swiss Jazz Orchestra and for being featured in a Netflix soundtrack, he shares a well-crafted jazzy piece. Using live recorded instruments to create an organic flow, as well as the finest instruments and vintage recording equipment, "Monday Groove" is the perfect jazz song to start the week serenely, blending a groovy rhythm, elegant piano and saxophone notes, and distant vocals.
