HipHopAnonymous.org is an attempt to embrace hip-hop culture by hunting down what is good and what is ridiculous.  It is was once a supplement for listeners of the Hip Hop Anonymous radio show back in 2002, but it is now a a resource for persons looking for a different perspective on hip-hop.  This is where mediocrity and greatness is pointed out in this music genre.

about the history

HipHopAnonymous started as an underground hip-hop radio show on Iowa State University’s student-run radio station, KURE 88.5 FM in the spring of 2003.  A blog started shortly thereafter, and existed for a few years as the author traveled to New York City and Chicago commentating on the culture, before ultimately going on hiatus.  The blog is back now in today’s digital world, and can be found on major social media sites.

Jonathan Hernandez is a thirty-something that works in non-profit by day and is a concert-goer by night.  He graduated from Iowa State University in 2003.  His favorite activity is laughing until his stomach can no longer take the pain.  He strives to be a good human being and also enjoys working out and video games from time to time.  He drinks and thinks much more than he should, and obviously has a passion for hip-hop.
