An all original instrumental reminiscent of old school dark wave, with the essence of Shriekback mixed with a touch of Glitch.  I could imagine this within the next Silent Hill movie (In case any movie producers are listening). Elegance, World Beats, Spacial, Expansive with surprise breaks in the beats all forming together into an organic soundscape. This song "Vchitʹsya" which means "to learn" in Ukrainian, is dedicated to the fierceness of the Ukrainian people, facing an unprovoked and unprecedented attack on their civil liberties, way of life, and sovereignty.

Inspired by this Ukrainian Artist:
"Support" by Olga Shtonda  she writes “I’m from Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-biggest city, 40km from the Russian border. Two weeks before the war began, I went to Mexico to see a friend. Being away from those you love in such a terrible time is hard. There is constant bombing where my parents live. At first I felt hopeless. Sometimes I still feel guilty that they see horror while I see a peaceful sky. But I realized that I can give them my best support even from another continent. 1.4 million refugees have fled the Ukraine… some walking for days, others on grueling 33 hours through multiple trains to Poland. The vast majority of those on the move are women and children, separated from their boyfriends, husbands and fathers because able-bodied men 18 to 60 years old are prohibited by Ukraine’s government from leaving and have to stay and fight. I’m sure most of them compelled to protect their way of life, and the future of their family as Ukrainians.

What would you do in the face of an evading force?

My heart goes out to the families in this turmoil. Anyone that supports this type of an assault on an independent people deserve the wrath of vengeance and to removed from sharing space with civil people.

This is not a previous version of Plasmonic 2.01 but an entirely different song.  This is actually a premastered version, more work will be done, and this track will be updated.

Updated on April 19, 2022: improved tempo by+4 BPM, refined the pre-mastering to define the 808 more distinctly and improved overall mix.  This track still has not been fully mastered yet thus the reason it's a little quite, just turn it up a little on your own. :)

Plasmonic combines the resonant depth of physical modeling with subtractive synthesis. Our goal is for Plasmonic to approach the depth and detail of an acoustic instrument, while making it easy to shape the sound into anything you want. Its deep modulation capability and MPE support make it very playable and expressive.

Plasmonic v1.07c

Plasmonic 2.01 is not a different version of Plasmonic 1.07 but entirely different songs, based on the same soft synth. This is yet another sonic exploration by Sky of Hipnautica, utilizing the new Plasmonic soft synth by Rhizomatic Software Synthesis. The goal of the Plasmonic Soft Synth was to approach the depth and detail of an acoustic instrument, while making it easy to shape the sound into anything you want this is what has drawn me into the new sonic landscapes that make this instrument so capable of achieving.  

(THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS - some of the triggers and frequencies of the synth need to be tweaked, and the track mastered - but I was so excited I wanted to share what I had so far)

Plasmonic 2.01

I wrote this song on the back end of Plasmonic 1.5 but as I was writing the song I learned about a new technology which was so cool, but took too much CPU power so I had to strip it out and make an independant song.  At 124 BPM it's quite chill, but has a great grove, and the second half features some really tight dub step wobbles, probably my best to date. I learned a lot during the making, mixing and mastering of this song. I hope you enjoy it.

Illusion of Time

After months of throwing out everything I knew about writing music and using my equipment the way that I have, I have been doing a deep dive into synthesis, exploring the nuances of harmonics, drones, and the essence of the sounds my soul seeks to hear more of in this world to find solace.

Throughout this exploration I've also been relearning the technical aspects of sound creation and the delivery of that sound.  This is in my opinion perhaps the most technically accurate version of what I hear in my studio to what I get back from streaming services.

This is a song about unrequited dreams of lovers lost and lovers never meant to be due to circumstances and/or situational timing and of the allure and power of seduction.  A tale of a dreamer and siren, caught in between the darkness and the light.   ~sky

Mirrored Glances

Hipnautica, is the culmination of internal and external struggles, inner voices refined and what Sky calls devine passion since birth.  A musician and visionary, Sky, started Hipnautica in 2006 after a near death experience.  Sky was not new to Electronic music though, having been a founding member of the Austin Electronic music scene since 1986. 

At a very young age, Sky started using hardware synths, keyboards, and computers like the Atari STe, back in the late 80s and was already on the radio by the time he was 17.   In a town known for county and rockabilly it was a constant struggle to convince venues of what he believed would be coming and that the world would embrace computers, and technology in the future of music. From the first Casio he recognized the ghost within the machine. Today he loves to combine styles and marry both organic, acoustic and electronic elements to create his signature sound which is hypnotic and intoxicating to the soul. 

Sky writes, "Through organic synthesis, waveforms, and frequencies unattainable by traditional instruments new worlds could be explored internally, new pathways to higher levels of consciousness could be explored and magnified. "Real music" is music artists create from true inspiration, from the soul, and through discipline and experimentation we can refine that inspiration to present works that hopefully will inspire others.

“The evolution of electronic music is constant and it's been a part of my soul for over 20 years, I'm constantly excited to explore new ideas, to fuse genres, to cross merge sound, to synthesize new sounds that transport people to inner realms. When people ask me what kind of music I write, I used to try and define it, but over the last few years. My answer is simple and based on my own personal spiritual and artistic evolution, "I write music". You may love some of it, you may hate some of it, but ultimately I simply have to create and I hope some of what I do will inspire you.  Perhaps some of what I present will speak to you, either way, I simply have to create.
