HiPNOTT Record Artist, Intelligenz goes on tour with the greatest story teller himself, Slick Rick for his first “Home Coming Tour” in the United Kingdom and drops her new single “Welcome To The Grind”.  The iconic and London born legend, fresh off his naturalized U.S. citizenship victory,  captivated audiences with his highly anticipated tour.  Touching five cities in the U.K. including Manchester, London, Bristol, Birmingham, Dublin Ireland and ending in Brighton he left listeners in tears, overwhelmed and fulfilled. 

Intelligenz is the first emcee that just so happened to be female, going on tour with “The Ruler”.  A Chicago native, now residing in the DMV area, she has been humbly hitting stages and getting cosigned by the veterans of Hip-hop for some time now.  Previously opening for MC Lyte, Rakim, Rah Digga, Masta Ace, Lord Finesse and many more, the female wordsmith has been making her rounds in the industry.   While on tour in the UK, Intelligenz’ connection with the audience was embraced and she was rendered a healthy Round of Applause.  So much, she was invited to kick off the Redman, Method Man and De La Soul show in Paris, debuting her new single, “Welcome To The Grind”.   

Intelligenz has been the hidden diamond in the rough for quite a while though she won MC Lyte’s “Next Top Female MC” competition.  Competing against female emcees from all over the country in a cypher style arena, Intelligenz walked away with the crown.  This new single, "Welcome To The Grind", touches on her journey of trying to break through the glass ceiling created for female emcees with hopes of reigniting the passion of lyrical content being spotlighted for female lyricists.  Get to know this gem breaking barriers for what females in Hip-Hop should sound like, look like, speak like and think like – she is the change many have craved.

HiPNOTT Records was founded in 2009 by hip hop blogger Kevin Nottingham (of KevinNottingham.com) in an effort to release good music by artists that deserve to be heard. This is the first instance of a hip hop blogger branching out to form an independent label.

HiPNOTT Records’ goal is to continuously build their artists’ resumes and consistently develop an image that hip hop will have no choice but to admire.
