''I made this in light of the honours bestowed on the architects of Detroit's techno earlier this year in their home city.  It was an amazing moment to see the Belleville Three (Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins and Derrick May), Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Eddie Fowlkes, Kelli Hand and Underground Resistance to receive the accolades they so rightly deserved, and initially just for my sets as I thought it would be great for the summer shindigs.  Little did I know after playing it out over the past few months I'd get the responses I did.

I thought I'd now give it out to my peers to see what they think of it, hope you like it!''

Amsterdam based Luuk van Dijk is welcomed into the Hot Creations fold this July with his heavy-hitting Parallax E.P. Chicago production wizard DJ Skull is also on board to rework the B-side.

Title track Parallax is set to cause a serious stir at festivals and clubs alike this summer. The smattering of high-hats elevate the track as the space-like beeps and blips add another facet. On the flip, Dimension applies an ominous vocal stab as the bass rumbles — perfect for low ceiling basement raves. On the remix, DJ Skull adds a touch of Chicago class via some softer vocals, dubby chords and a pounding bass. At the tender age of 22, Luuk van Dijk has been signed to acclaimed labels such as VIVa Music, Roush, Food Music, Sanity and Lost Records. Championed by stalwarts such as Steve Lawler and Eats Everything, he has taken his sound to some of the world’s most prestigious events.

Ron Maney aka DJ Skull became known for being one of the first DJs to play the new sound coming out of Chicago, honing his craft at the infamous Music Box and Power Plant. Releasing records since the early 90s, he later launched his own labels Hypnotic Tones and Wax Candy Records. Recent releases have appeared on Chiwax, Domina Trxxx and Mentha Records.

Manchester-based DJ and production trio Mason Collective debut on Hottrax, teaming up with Renko for three high-octane house cuts entitled ‘Feelin’ Ugly’ EP this October.

Born out of the sell-out MVSON events, Mason Collective aka Blair Suarez, Adam ‘Mase Milo’ Myles and Omar Guedar have garnered a solid reputation for their signature brand of compelling grooves. As producers their inaugural release ‘Whippin’ on Wow Recordings topped Beatport’s overall chart with support from The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice and Patrick Topping. Since then they’ve continued to release on labels like Sola and Solid Grooves, with further appearances scheduled on Desolat and Roush. However, their abilities are not only limited to the studio as they continue to perform at festivals such as Creamfields, Hideout, Parklife and Lost & Found.

Kick-starting the release with pure energy, the fast-paced ‘Barz’ features intricate percussion, rumbling bass and squeaky effects. Teaming up with Renko, ‘Feelin’ Ugly’ is more downtempo in comparison, combining eerie atmospherics with murky vocal murmurs and crunchy drums before ‘Roman’s Laugh’ concludes the package with whirring synths, echoing snares and sci-fi inspired blips.
