#‎TBT Artist: DJ Weaver – Week 3 I am focusing on Australian Hardcore legend Weaver.

Weaver has made countless anthems including ‘Cannonball’, ‘Fading Away’ and ‘Come Into My Dreams’. His production has always been tight and well respected amongst his peers.  

He has released on many labels including Evolution, Warped Science, Raverbaby & Executive.

I first met Weaver back at Atomic Playground 1 in 2000, I wanted to purchase his Extreme Energy CD and I paid $40. (Quite a nice little profit). It may seem expensive but that was the times back then, it was quite hard to get new music and I really enjoyed the direction he was taking. The majority of Happy Hardcore DJs still played older 90s Hardcore and Weaver was all about pushing the new. This in itself was a huge contributing factor to Hardcore growing in popularity in Australia. UK artists like Fade and Scott Brown were really pushing the trancier elements in Hardcore and I was incredibly excited about the future.

Weaver was also pushing the newer sounds on CPX radio on Wednesday nights and DJing at every major rave event in Sydney and interstate.

Weaver and I soon collaborated on the popular Bouncing Beats series and we made our first song together called ‘Get Up’, he also supported Executive for many years and released three vinyl EPs and countless mp3’s on the label.

Although many years have now passed Weaver is still making tracks and pushing his label Weaver Files, Planet Hardcore & Nitrocore. His main focus these days is under his alias Bobby Neon and Hardforze but his love for Hardcore is still present.

::INTERVIEW with SMASHER::

So how SMASHER was not able to be present in the air online, we asked him a few our brand questions, and below you can read the answers to them.

HELL KITCHEN: How long have you been doing music? Why did you choose drum'n'bass?

SMASHER: In 2007 I have found the world of electronic music starting to get interest in becoming a DJ. Two years later I started to listen drum'n'bass and I have made an instantly connection.

HK: Where is your creative pseudonim from? What mean your pseudonim?

SMASHER: When I started I wanted to create something different that would Smash the audience and make them identified with my work.

HK: What russian drum’n’bass/hardcore producers you know? How you estimate quality of their works?

SMASHER: I know some artists, but I would like to works with some russian artists, cause I identify with the works I have heard so far and I really think they do an excellent job.

HK: Would you like to visit Russia? What you know about our country?

SMASHER: I don't have much knowledge about the russian culture actually and that's kind of a shame. But it would be a honor to be in that country and learn more about people and their costume that are some, how reflected on the kind of music that is directed there.

HK: What are you doing in time free from creativity?

SMASHER: I have practiced lot of sports all of my life like football, downhill and others . But right now I'm pull dedicated to production and to improve my abilities.
