Stefan ZMK's contribution to this E.P. "Scrambled" is an energetic exercise in raging hardcore techno. True ravers will get mad on the distorted kicks, obscured vocals, sweeping synths and in 'contrast' to his normal routine, even some gabber snaredrums! Young talented producer Jacob Inhuman releases his first track "Poisoned Power", and it's a true dancefloor monster. Heavy hardhitting drum 'n bass meets in your face crossbreed mayhem. The deadly duo, Cursed Legion made an eardrum killing dubstep track "Convert', that tends to get in your head, and just when you think you heard it all, it explodes into a full force drum 'n bass track! Well known for his tracks on the famous and well respected Cenobite Records, Manic made an original mid tempo industrial variation to trancecore: "The Paradigm Shift" Pure and mental hardcore! Keen's live act has not gone unnoticed. About time his tracks are getting released! "Jinxed & Tilted" has vivacious basslines with a mind catching tune accompanied by an abstruse vibe. Another dutch debut duo, OMFG, made an hypnotizing IDM track called "Mansa Musa". It tells a deep story of darkness. The percussion has a worldly acoustic feel and the beat is driving the wide haunting atmosphere. Masters of Hardcore is a Dutch hardcore event that was first held on July 1, 1995 in the sports halls of Almere under the name Doomsday - Masters of Hardcore. At the time, this party was organized by A&A events, which stood for Attalos & Airpeace. This organization was run by the DJ King Matthew. A&A was later renamed 'Almere & Art'. Now it's Art Of Dance

Around this time, Masters of Hardcore also released their first release on the label, produced by DJs Bass-D & King Matthew, Rob Gee & DJ J.D.A.

In 1998, the popularity of hardcore in the Netherlands declined and the hardcore music movement became underground again. This meant that many organizations no longer saw anything in the music and dropped out. Masters of Hardcore was one of the few parties that continued to exist and also continued to program only real hardcore music.
In 2002 hardcore experienced another revival. This resulted in the Masters of Hardcore event getting bigger and eventually becoming too big for the Hemkade.

Since the year 2002, Hemkade 48 and event organization A&A events have joined forces to organize all events together under the name Art of Dance.

Dj. Destination Underground - Early Hardcore Sessions #68

He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake...

This is a creepy dark set with a stalker theme-- the yang to the yin of the bright holiday season.  Don't be fooled by the starting track-- there is no Christmas music in the meat of this set. 

This set is like nothing else I've done.  I focused on Doomcore Records tracks-- doomcore music is dark, slamming hard, complicated, and beautiful, but also a bit slow (105 to 150 bpm) compared to my normal speeds (180 to 280). 

I paired the doomcore with old school terror & cheapcore tracks (DOA, Temper Tantrum, C-Tank), and a few current gems including some haunting music out of NY by a band called Gravelhands.

So pull up a chair to the fire, turn OFF the Christmas music, and enjoy this holiday treat I mixed especially for you.
