The theme for my Sonic Character, tempest.

I made it in a program called "LMMS", it's pretty easy to use when you get the hang of it, but it takes a while to perfect your work. This song still isn't perfect - and neither is my art, haha.

NOTE: The [ow] phonetic was recorded to be used as the british-english [oa] phonetic which is not present in arpasing. I recommend you replace this with [ah uw1] to get the original "oh" sound. For example, [h ah][ah uw1][uw m] ("Home"). Don't use [ah uw] for this, because it has a more abrupt transition and doesn't sound right.

I recommend that you use TIPS or Fresamp for the best results. TIPS has had less problems with my voice but Fresamp generally sounds better (though takes a long time to resample).

testing my "Arpasing Full" reclist. It's designed in the same way as most older reclists for efficiency. It's based on Adlez27/DystoP/KLAD's short arpasing reclist. It contains samples and transitions between almost all phonemes available in arpasing.

Arpasing reclist test [A Letter To X by Seiza]

I think it's gotten better over time.
It's in order of CVVC, Arpasing V1, Arpasing british reclist and Arpasing full reclist.
The last sample has the tone I have always been going for tbh, but I do like the tone of the second from last.
The main differences are how they've been recorded. The lesson I've learnt is to be more organised with how your voicebank is recorded. My CVVC was recorded in audacity and I was making up things as I went along. Since no CVVC already catered for british english, I used CZ's phonemes and just tweaked them to my liking.
I personally have come to a final conclusion that you can make anything work with some workarounds, like with arpasing, I used ow for my oa phoneme (again, not to be mistaken with ao), since that wasn't part of arpasing, and then for my ow sound I used an [ah uw] transition.

I plan to make a VCV english voicebank at some point, or an improved CVVC. Just so that there's variety.
Though Arpasing will still be my goto since it's easy to record, easy to use, and sounds great anyway.

got bored. so fun though, his r-coloured vowels aren't r-coloured so it gives him extra vowels (not that I used them much)
Tried to make him sound more adult and americanised, or something
based on MakkuSan's VSQ which is why the vibratos sound so good

I Found My day1 utau vb and its a weird mess that works for no languages

Sonika recorded a VCV utauloid wow!

so, this has probably already been messed with before. IDK if anyone who'd've done this would've called it "VC English" but I don't think it's worthy of "VCV English" due to its nature.
Basically, every sample's main syllable vowel is a schwa, and then that's blended into the next VCV where the preutterance vowel is actually the vowel you're tying to use for the syllable.
The whole concept was to
1) make it sound more like the UTAU was opening their mouth, and the vowels were supposed to sound more like they were being sung naturally
2) make shorter notes more mumbly to give the whole feeling of the singer not having enough time to completely open their mouth
3) sound as smooth as VCV but with less samples, at the cost of being slightly less clear.

In some places, it worked amazingly, but as you can probably hear, it overall sounds mumbly. I'm gonna keep messing with this concept though to see if i can get anywhere with it.

This was a pretty interesting song to make. We had a schedule, but naturally we all left each step to the last minute before each deadline;; I'm pretty proud of how this turned out though. I think Kiyoteru's voice complements SONiKA's tone a fair bit too, which is always good, as a lot of people don't seem to like SONiKA's tone (I blame the large amount of people tuning and mixing her wrong)
