His latest offering comes as an eye-opening peek into a long-awaited debut LP set for in the tail end of 2022.

Released on Dutch imprint Klassified on 19th August, Mencke’s ‘Su’ is the first glimpse of a telling journey - inspired by a Buddhist’s path to enlightenment. As expected, the track is melodically-charged and presents itself as a depthy sea of emotive instrumental layers. Beyond its well-balanced core of punchy drums and delicate percussive structures, you can find a plethora of tonal components balancing rougher sounds with soothing tones from end to end. A progressive and depthy track with undeniable dancefloor value, ‘Su’ is the perfect introduction ahead of the release of ‘Unalome’ in October.

Fresh off a busy summer yet again spent casting memorable hoodoo spells upon the ravers, Hive Audio rounds off the festival season with their new VA, "Summer Slices 2022". 
Geared up with a choice allotment of solar grooves and deftly surgical machine funk, this round proves particularly heady and deep if anything. 

A string of mercurial slabs, perfect to transition smoothly from the sunny days into fall's hybrid ambiences, starting with Matija & Richard Elcox "Land of Zilla" - a moody, low-slung number to kick things off proper, with its ambiguously hazy atmosphere and nimble swing leading the parade, before Felipe Puertes' infectious multi-strain mashup "Everything of Life" worms its way in-limbo jagged Latin house reliefs, Chicagoan soulfulness and a tang of Afro-futuristic programming. 

Swiss duo Smalltown Collective contribute a total jacking piece of arsenal with the steadily soaring "Amira", which mixes elements of Arabic folk grammar with a liquid-like, bass-powered bounce and seesawing synths from outer space. 

On the fractals-unfolding "Hexagon", Chris Sen & Guy Herman pull out a fine slice of verbed-out tech-house skirting on cinematic cliff-hanging, whereas Trees of Tampa shift the scope onto kosmische-indebted, space opera-friendly ambition with the enslavingly hypnotic "Sorcerer".

 Flexing muscles all the way, Tschan "Gosar" taps both in the classic hardcore sound, tribal techno and sino-flavoured harmonics to weave its own Frankensteinian monster of big-room effusiveness.

 "Under The Table" by Roman Blum belongs to a more straightforward genotype of early house laced with hints of garage and post-French Touch pop-ish fun, while SOAME's "Heat" provides exactly what's written on the tin, i.e. no-nonsense onslaughts of smouldering hi-hats, dubbed-out vox stabs and buzzing synths processed to optimal floor-obliterating effect.

Jacob Groening returns to his record label Kamai Music with two enchanting organic house tracks alongside remixes by Xique-Xique and Kermesse.

Known for having a style that blends deep atmosphere with captivating melodies and flowing percussion, Jacob Groening is a talented producer who has featured tracks and remixes on other imprints including Bar 25 Music, The Gardens of Babylon, and 3000 Grad Records.

Based in Berlin, Jacob Groening is a veteran of the German club scene who has also travelled the globe to play headline DJ sets everywhere from India to Brazil.

On remix duties, Xique-Xique is a downtempo and trippy artist known for his release on labels such as Stil Vor Talent and The Magic Movement.

The other remix comes from Kermesse who are an Argentinian duo from Buenos Aires whose eloquent style of organic house can be found on the likes of Sol Selectas, Bar 25 and LNDKHN.

“Neko” opens the release with its japanese vocals from berlin based Artist Kotoe. Added by gamelan-style melodies fused with shuffling percussion and a fluttering bassline. It’s a sensual track that builds tantalising suspense as it unfolds with intricate attention to detail.

Xique-Xique’s remix of Neko adds in a new progressive bassline which is rich in subfrequencies that fill the track with a radiating warmth. His rework maintains many of the original’s key elements while adding pads and other synths to make a more melodic version.

“Suingu” is the second of the two originals and it’s got psychedelic atmosphere layered with acoustic guitar chords and sequenced organic percussion. It’s a stripped-back track that gives each part room to breathe while also ensuring the drums maintain a dance floor friendly energy.

Kermesse close out the release with their remix of “Suingu” which adds a jovial funk with chopped-up sections of the original parts reformed into a jazz-inspired rework. Vibrant and full of personality, it’s a charismatic version that is truly mesmerising.

Noema’s record label The Magic Movement revisits Xique-Xique's debut album 'Na Lagoa' with new remixes by Nutia, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Niko Schwind and Batu Ozer.

Xique-Xique dropped their downtempo and trippy 'Na Lagoa' album via The Magic Movement in 2021 and this release features dance floor friendly reworks of its most popular tracks.

Nutia provides a trippy remix of "Preludio" in a similar style to what the Hamburg based artist has featured on other imprints such as Sol Selectas and Underyourskin Records.

Sutera will be part of of a new compilation: Katermukke & With You: Rumours by the Lake which is a unique collaboration in sound between Berlin and Cape Town.The compilation speaks to the soundtrack of this festival, curating a dynamic spectrum of melodic house & techno. 

Sutera is a dreamy and groovy melodic house production based solely on Yannek's recordings, samples and patches. For this he was out in nature, kitchen and his closets to keep the sound as diverse and organic as possible. It's this attention to detail and obsession with everything from recording to mastering that makes this track special and so unique. 

Freshly hatched and fancifully feathered, DJ and producer Yannek Maunz supplies the world with deep, melodic and synth-based melodic house beats he cooks up in his shambolic bedroom studio in Berlin Kreuzberg. From his very first release on, he managed to manifest a signature sound made up of analog synths, organic percussion, and a knack for memorable melodies. Over the last two years, this sound has been continuously pushing its way through dancing crowds and streaming platforms. Despite a steady stream of releases on established labels like Parquet, 3000°, Stil Vor Talent and Katermukke, he co-founded his own label YION in 2020. Here, he not only releases music under his own name but also with his friends and long term collaborators Felix Raphael, Brascon and Johanson.
