Representatives of Kyiv’s downtempo  wave, Kostya Kottov and Techija, have long been probing the ground for launching their own label. The starting point was their joint promoter POVILNO, under the banner of which they’ve been running events for the past few years. Staking on eclecticism and musical diversity, they’re ready to present the first compilation of the newly minted imprint – a collection of 
slow-burning tracks inspired by the power of organic elements and 
psychedelic experimentation from artists around the world, including 
duo Stevie R and Parisinos, Roe Deers, Dan Bay, Colossio, LEONOR 
and ID_UA.

The compilation opener “Information Society” sees the massive bass lines of UK label bosses Inside Out, Stevie R and Parisinos, their sense of drama and epicism meet the chilling vocals from 70's videos about information overload. The result is a slow but weighty track for early dancefloors and late night hangouts.
“People Know” from label mate, Ukrainian producer ID_UA, is a psychedelic stroll under a palm-crossed sky. A tight groove with tantalizing synths and a splash of trippy guitar parts. 
The mood is picked up by the Mexican Colossio with the exceptional diamond collection “Shofar”, a perfect dancefloor piece where guitar 
and brass sounds intertwine to leave a mark, a constant intrigue and a mysterious atmosphere that hypnotizes you and keeps you moving.
At the helm of the B-side is Lithuanian nightlife powerhouse Roe Deers with “Monotony Killed Dinosaurs”: soft breaks and a tight beat laden with shifting percussion immerse you in the nighttime jungle.
“The Darkside of Orgánica” by Frankfurt-based musician Dan Bay is a fusion of the tranquility of nature and a sense of danceable energy; a track that hangs on to raw and dynamic beats and a winding lead, providing a pulsating, hypnotic immersion.
Closing the rotation is Guadalajara-based producer Leonor’s ‘RWandaS Bells’, which blends influences of folk music and primal rhythm with a special dub flavor. Close your eyes and embark on a fascinating journey to complete this compilation.

En IRLV nos dejamos el estreno del “Remake” de la artista colombiana Lu Zero, quien con con su versión de "Disco Ritual" presenta una expedición rítmica y psicodélica, una versión marcada por la presencia voces y sonidos de fuera de esta dimensión.
A través de referencias encontradas en géneros como Synth-wave, Progressive, Techno, Rock y Disco, Lu Zero  va más allá de los estándares estéticos y los conceptos lineales.

Destination Madrid: Penrose Records founder David Ponziano returns to the controls with two high voltage originals and remixes from Alvaro Cabana & Julian Sanza and Undo…

‘Blindfold’ taps into a vibrant, poppy, synth-heavy sound. Sitting somewhere between Kraftwerk and Underworld with an added vocal call to action, this pushes all the right buttons with an unrelenting groove and strong sense of triumph running throughout. Remix-wise these elements are flipped into a deep cosmic chug as 2020 Soundsystem / Silver City maverick Julian Sanza and Holographic Planes’ Alvaro Cabana go dark mode with an absurdly powerful and heady workout. 

The work continues with ‘Where You From?’ A dramatic slab of bleep-fuelled tech that’s reminiscent of the mid 90s German Tresor sound. Rising and rising with tension and just the right amount of theatre, this one asks all the right questions and your dancefloor will guarantee a reaction. 

For a deeper perspective head to Undo’s remix. A foreboding and stern take that nods to the legacy of Black Strobe, this one pulsates with tension as we march into the future. It’s a reminder that things aren’t always about where we’re from… It’s about where we’re heading.

Our next Inside Out Records installment set to release on NYE 2022 is a Bandcamp exclusive project by label bosses Stevie R & Parisinos. “We Are Here” serves two peak time club cuts ready for dancefloor exhilaration. The original features a heavy four on the floor rhythm with radio vocals and strong bass lines. The remix by Israel based Autarkic offers a strong break beat alternative.

The air in the city was thick with smoke and ash, and the buildings were grey and towering. The streets were filled with people, all walking with their heads down and their faces covered. It was a dystopian world, where hope was rare and joy was even rarer. But on this foggy night, there was a glimmer of something different. The people had heard whispers of a firework display, something that hadn't been seen in the city for years. The display would be a celebration of hope, a chance to consign the bleakness of their lives to oblivion and momentarily revel in something beautiful.

As the sun set and the fog rolled in, people started to gather in the streets. They were cautious at first, not sure if the rumours were true. But then, they saw the first burst of colour in the sky, and they knew it was real. The fireworks were breathtaking. They exploded in the sky, sending showers of sparks raining down on the city. The colours were bright and bold, and for a moment, the people forgot about the darkness that surrounded them.

Edinburgh experimental composer Jordan Russell-Hall, aka Jordan Stanley, makes his debut on Bytes with his exceptional second album, A Cry For The Moon. There are shades of his Scottish contemporaries Hudson Mohawke and Rustie in these colourful experiments in microsampling. Like a magpie snaffling shiny objects for its nest, Jordan has procured samples from all corners of the electronic and pop music realm - from Charli XCX and Mr Mitch to Ariana Grande and Jimmy Edgar - to help form a vivid sound palette of vibrant synths, frenetic Jersey Club-influenced rhythms and lush ambience.

12 months older, 12 months wiser: Correspondant celebrate the end of a year we'll all be happy to see the back of with their annual V/A opus.

18 tracks deep, featuring old friends (Man Power, DC Salas, Juan Mclean and TERR) and new friends (Captain Mustache, Mala Ika, Franz Scala, INVŌKER) alike, 'Compilation 8' is a sonic silver lining to keep us marching through these strange times. Power-packed with every leftfield shade and flavour we've come to know and love Jennifer Cardini's label for. Dark disco, sexy synthwave, slo-mo cosmic funk and sleazy, dubby techno are all deep in the mix.

Highlights come in all forms and flavours, shapes and sizes from Man Power's moody, hypnotic opener 'Casual Loop' right the way through to Invoker's emotional breakbeat farewell 'Let The World Heal'. Elsewhere Damon Jee and Darlyn Vlys go full trance on 'Sin City', V takes on a cult Lithuanian classic from the mid 90s 'Insect Dance', Julian Stetter and Johannes Klingebiel collaborate for the very first time… And Rodion flips Jarle Brathen and Hard Ton's 'Master In Disguise' into an electro overture.

DC Salas - As Slow As We Can Go

Formed in 2014 by Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli, italian duo Modular Project have become one of our favourite producers of the moment, with a sound defined and built around synths & drums, heavily influenced by New Wave and the Italo disco sound of the 80’s.

Among their latest releases, you can find a remix to Blond:ish's classic ‘Wizard of Love’ released on Rebirth Records or appearances on labels such as hfn, Beachcoma or Parisian label, Motordiscs.

Honchos behind their own label 'Nothing Is Real' since 2018, where as it's happening with their own productions, are consistently included on Beatport's main charts.

We've been in discussion with them about hosting a mix for a while so we're delighted to finally present it.
