We’re back with the second release on our label and this time it’s a small snapshot of the Finnish scene: a collection of fast, psychedelic techno from Helsinki artist HOMI (@kiuas) with a slow-burning remix from VC-118A (@mohlao).

Recorded at his studio space in Helsinki, HOMI’s Välitila EP begins with three tracks of percussive, acid-tinged techno, primed for peak time. The B-side features a remix of the title track Välitila from Dutch-born and now Finland-based VC-118A, delivering a winding, slow-burning counterweight to Homi’s dancefloor-oriented original. The digital edition includes a bonus fifth track of quirky breakbeat techno from HOMI titled SmallBisnes.

To the island of Jeju, we look today as the latest offering on Oslated comes in the form of Vidění. True to form, the Italian DJ, and producer (now Barcelona based) inhabits the deeper realms of electronica, as the LP seamlessly glides through many a mood and genre. Acting more like a spiritual successor to a prior release on Shaded Explorations, The Land Of Clouds expands a great deal more on the slower, rhythmic side of things, through wonderful textures, pads, and a great sense of arrangement.

‘Wanderers Of The Sky’ acts as a proper response to the growing tension of prior tracks. Energy was building, building, building, now the crescendo has been reached, the hill climbed, and back down we must go. The subtle drone-like melodies, guide the listener through the emotional come down gently. Deftly complimented by the spiraling synths and a steady percussive line, breakish in nature. All of which ease the landing into the beatless ending of the release.

The Land Of Clouds will be released via Oslated, on the 29th of July.
