In the middle of the summer Yeho, an Israeli musician coming from Tel Aviv, was wandering around Italy and randomly he found himself in the “Quintino Basement”, lair of Ninja Exotic Machine.
This casual encounter gave birth to three new tracks where the
duo’s downtempo and tribal style merges with Yeho’s crisp and raw vocal together with intriguing percussions samples extracted from live recordings of the percussionist Andrea Greco.
The result is an Ep called “36 questions” out on Pho Bho Records on the 14th of October.

Levon Vincent - Double Jointed Sex Freak (Part 1) (2009)

In their first official release (discounting the sweet, whitelabel Casino Edits 2) since their full-length album on Wolf Music, Familiar Circles, London-based duo @Casino-Times has teamed up with Swedish imprint @Omena-records for a four track EP. The label, run by @Tooli of @LocalTalk fame, has a sound that could best be characterized as whimsical and airy, with cheerful chord progressions and rare rhythms often decorating their tracks. The Decoded EP sees Casino Times’ pensive, layered electronic sound combining rather well with the label’s aesthetic.

The B1 track  “Simulation Bamboo” has an 80s electro inspired drum kit being layered with celestial and moody synth riffs and well-arranged strings. Perhaps the track title does a bit of foreshadowing in this case, as the piece contains an interesting combination of electronic and eastern colors. The song is at once both ominous and bright in mood, and could equally be seen soundtracking a roadtrip as much as it could the early AM segment of an emotional warehouse bash.

The Hivern split series was born as a platform for club-ready tracks that don’t require a broader sonic context to express themselves. It’s also as a way of generating an unplanned dialogue between artists in the label’s orbit, connecting the dots amid them in spontaneous and almost unconscious ways. The third instalment of the series brings together Beesmunt Soundsystem and Cooper Saver. Their two tracks share a similar approach, deconstructing ethereal sounds over dark rhythmic foundations to reach the same kind of narcotic transcendence. The visual concept of the series has been developed by London-based design studio DR.ME
