cycle is a record about time, repetition, routine and habits.

built on the same sets of loops, drums and synths, each track was an opportunity to write something continuous and familiar but in a different manner for each piece.

this limitation has been a key to develop and craft detailed layers and sound design to give songs entitled auras and personality to further the idea of our relationship with time and habits; a love/hate story.

'cycle functions as both break and culmination in nunu’s greater body-of-work. It is a love/hate story about time and habits, and a debut album that explores the French artist’s capacity to imbue individual works with personality and aura. Having spent the past several years releasing disorientingly beautiful edit packs and collections of archival material (from 2013 to 2019), cycle also operates as a reintroduction to an artist who is at their best when transforming the personal into spectacularly original sonic formations.

cycle has also provided nunu with an opportunity to write in a continuous and familiar manner, yet with a different set of contingencies for each track. Like past nunu works, including 2016’s Mind Body Dialogue and 2018’s SCUM, cycle revels in dissonance, but also takes the time to explore minute textural egresses and rhythmic blackholes. While a clear step away from past dancefloor-intended tracks, nunu’s progression through nine “cycles” is no less physically demanding.

Built on a single set of loops, drums and synths, the album has been constructed from a set of self-imposed limitations. Yet, rather than strive for an impossible minimalism, cycle is instead full of intriguing diversions, impossibly layered textures and sequence-after-sequence of drum-and-vocal intrusions. The result hues closer to nunu’s sonic vision than any previous release, an unholy assemblage that is as much a record about method and time as it is the artist’s relationship to their own tools and body' words by Gabe Meier

"Two years after the acclaimed “Momentary Glow”, @FARWARMTH lands on @Soul_Feeder with a new LP in which he explores the possibility music has as a fluid storytelling and world-building device. “A Blue Wind Is Now”, in fact, conjures a land where time, as a restless stream running in multiple directions, fluctuates between the moment life ended and the moment it is reborn, between what life has been before and what it could’ve been. At times harsh, at times gentle, all of the nine compositions are connected yet fragmented, acting as possible outcomes and moments of an existence that, due to its own nature, is doomed to extinction. Spontaneously combining contemporary minimalism, foley sound design, modern ambient and glitch music, FARWARMTH depicts a vivid sonic landscape, capable of evoking overwhelming tension when it gets blown away, and a placid release when, destroyed, it rests, waiting to rise again." In this new mix he teases us with the refined palette that is to found back in every sonic project he puts out.

World Canvas has a pleasure to introduce a new and exciting addition to the platform’s roster, a Helsinki-based mystical entity and artist nenúhîr. Having slowly honed their craft, following a string of self-released songs, album and recorded live performances, nenúhîr presents their new EP ‘đarva’ which brings together extracted sounds from YLE (Finnish National Radio) archives and abrasive electronic composition, featuring additional saxophone instrumentation from werna. The world of 'đarva' is a glimpse into a fantastical body of tar, as reflected on the release’s title - an allusion to Finnish terva and its historically binding qualities in and around the agrarian societies.
‘đarva’s and nenúhîr's storytelling capabilities shine most bright through its passages where sparse moments give way for imagining and submerging oneself into a bleak, yet beautiful pond of terva.
