With Assembler, his second full-length album, Yen Tech re emerges in ecstatic and primordial new form -- a multi-layered and interwoven work that blends futuristic production, meta-science fiction, and anthropic critique into a dizzying array of next scenarios -- a maze-like vision of our technological and exponentially oracular, full-stack future.

This imagined future becomes a construct or place in itself; one in which the record buzzes and swarms; a mechanosphere of towering melodic vocal samples and sound design - all narrated by Yen Tech's unnerving, diaristic vocals - as he channels the form of post-human techno cretin, whispering hyperbolic ASMR to no one in particular. We follow this character from one disorienting experience to the next as he recites a stream of indecipherable neologisms and hyper-descriptives, the existential residue seeping from every line. In the end though, a strange, uneasy beauty comes into focus; the metamorphic lyrics and musical euphorias revealing Assembler as a type of elegy: a wet glass reflection of the failures of what we are and were - and a jubilant celebration of what we may become.

"I imagined Assembler as a type of self imposed simulation, an invisible boundary that the narrator has to navigate out of to move forward. It was a way of looking at how we may carry the issues and failures of the past with us into the future. The psychological baggage of history, the guilt of geotrauma, the addictive melange of technology all become dealt with in this stage of acceptance and recovery. I wrote the album with this in mind, a process to find the slimy pearl of who we are" - Yen Tech

my late Capricorn Birthday mix. enjoy. 

As usual, for those who familiar w my work, stuffs i upload on my own soundcloud is my journal in soundscape forms. was stuck but have been accumulating d tension n longings in my body to marinate this since December. 

Also collaborated with 2 of my favorite Capricorn artists/friends/baddies to write poetry on desire and longing. They whipped out these out within 2 days last jan lol. happy belated bday to us..

ghosts of fingertips linger on my skin
like an old friend
tempat keras
haunted in hard edges of soft ligaments that have been stretched too thin that they are translucent, glistening in the right spots when the light hits them

hantu berkias dalam minda, ghaib aku gapai 

when the light glisten in the right spots, when it gets hit, when memories floats like dust, when it thickens, when wiped, when it settles again quietly after the brutal disturbance, when it builds again, when fingertips become ghosts, when ghosts brutally disturbs what was thought to be settled, when keras is not kaku because no, it is quiet, it lurks, it lingers but never stiffens into silence, when it is always there. when you are always there, even when you are not there.  

when i thought this was prophetic, when i thought ghosts were the ghosts of my yesteryears, when i thought it was over. 

ligaments melt into bones and all i could feel was the give, the giving with no security, kneecaps floating like dust, when caps became my ghosts, when you know my fingertips linger on my ghosts on you, when our bodies exists between bodies knocking into each other, never touching but always there, very aware of distance, very conscious to never make more ghosts because we both want this haunting to be over, or at least you do while i still want my fingertips on these ghosts.

With „I DARE YOU II“, Xzavier Stone unlifted the veil: Removing the usual hard-hitting drums and pop structures he highlighted the meticulous sound design that has made up a big part of his signature sound. This culminated in a soothing and ever evolving 26 min soundscape. With I DARE YOU II (Interpolated Versions), the artist invites friends to re-interpret his sonics. Whether it's made up of one sequence or many; there weren’t any rules to the creation process. This open approach resulted in a variety of interpolations - featuring a vocal debut by American musician and DJ P. Morris, the Dutch duo KEY/GEN, Montreal’s producer and DJ Martyn “M.” Bootyspoon, Swiss producers and artists 2AAB, Kombé, Modulaw and Tobias Koch, french pianist Joseph Schiano di Lombo, genre-bending French producer Brodinski and Xzavier’s frequent collaborator Phillip Jondo from Cologne.
