Though their formal elements have existed since the early years of film, it is only recently that these terms have come to function as generic labels with certain aesthetic and conceptual stances: poetically wrought language, self-reflexion, a sustained rumination on one issue, and movement across disciplinary confines. What can essay films and installation essays communicate to, and about, philosophy?

Das Hörstück zum Internationalen Literaturpreis 2013 ist eine poetische Audio-Komposition, produziert und konzeptioniert von  den Audiokünsterlinnen Cordula Dickmeiß und Susanne Franzmeyer. Ihre Montage bringt die nominierten Shortlist-Titel in Lesungen aus Original und deutscher Übertragung zum Klingen und fängt diese mit den  Lektüreeindrücken der Juroren in einem vielstimmigen Resonanzraum ein.
