We continue our journey of uncovering gems. Next up on the mag is Lyo aka Lyonel De Vos. Mostly associated with the NUT Records shop, which he set up with good friend Tunello, he’s a record dealer appreciated by DJs big and small, near and far. Belgian blooded, global kid, based in Barcelona. Oh and did we mention his record collection?!

Taking influences from his past - in Belgium with "electronic disco, proto house and all sorts of weird hybrid stuff", the minimal scene in Barcelona and his continued digging journey up to this point - Lyo delivers his personal take. 

"I've always been more into moods rather than styles", and for this podcast, he's got us in a mood alright: Diving into the unknown with menacing retro synths, funky rhythms, groovy basslines, emotional melodies and tasteful vocals, he warms up the stratosphere with the deep and industrial, leading towards a dancefloor in ecstasy, closing in style with a dub mix of Belgian synth-pop disco track "Love Sweet Love".

Edoardo is an Italian-born DJ based in Berlin. I met Edo in 2019 at a party in the Prague Wildt where we were invited to play. From the first days, intuition and faith did not let me down - this is a talented and promising young man. 


As part of a new generation of DJs, he has already had the honor of warming up Vera at the party Partisan at CDV in Berlin. And also earlier this year, Edoardo recorded his first ever mix for respected @yayevent

Cet été, Radio Sofa installe sa Méridienne dans le nouveau booth du Top à @point-eph-m-re, le temps d’une résidence radiophonique estivale. Dans ce studio transitoire, orienté vers des univers phoniques non-dansants, nous recevrons sur six dates invité.e.s et résident.e.s pour des sessions exploratoires à écouter assis.

La Méridienne entend mêler, quelques après-midi durant, lumière zénithale et poésie sonore. Les sélections de nos convives, ouvertes au public, seront retransmises en direct sur nos ondes depuis les toits puis disponibles à la réécoute. Amateurs et amatrices d’ambiances lancinantes et de rythmes voluptueux, la Méridienne s’ouvre au grand jour le 3 juillet.

[EN] Radio Sofa sets its Méridienne on the roof of the Point Ephémère for a summer radio residency. In this transitory studio, oriented towards non-dancing phonic universes, we will receive guests and residents for exploratory sessions to be listened to sitting down.

La Méridienne intends to mix zenithal light and sonic poetry for a few afternoons. The selections of our guests will be open to public and broadcast live on our airwaves from the rooftop. Lovers of haunting atmospheres and voluptuous rhythms, La Méridienne opens on the 3d of July.

With his radioshow ‘’Sonic Fiction’’ at local Amsterdam radiostation TNP ( @radiotemponaopara) he focus on non-clubby and dubby sounds and after his b2b with @essets at our Smoke room in Multipla during our birthday weekender we only wanted more.

Starry Night Whispers

An extended rework of a track written for the show "Stardust" which performed at the Roundhouse in London. Mambe is a sonic ceremony to the sacred Mambe plant. This piece weaves together sounds captured from the Amazon, layered with ritualistic textures and ancestral rhythms. It honours the plant’s grounding presence and ancient tradition. Traditionally prepared by roasting and crushing coca leaves, then mixing them with ash from the Yarumo tree. Mambe serves as a bridge connecting individuals to their community, their ancestors and the natural world. Through this ancient medicine, communication flows and understanding deepens. In this musical offering, those sacred pathways are embodied through sound. The piano at the end is my original improvisation which later became the Charango part heard previously.
