The Great Giana Sisters, Title-Theme (#1) (Low Gravity Mix)

This is a sound experiment of mine.
Synthmania showed in several very helpful videos, how the arpeggiator of the Juno 60 can be triggered by a drum-machine (like the TR-707). That way, the synth uses the input for the notes of the arpeggiator from the keyboard, while it uses the input for the rhythm from the drum-machine (by CV):

It seems the result of this technique has inspired a lot of the musicians from the early 80s, that I like.
Then I thought, what if I do that in midi? So today I wrote a Python script, that creates a jack-client (on Linux) using the module "alsaseq". The script gets midi input from a midi-keyboard (pitch) as well as from seq24 (rhythm). And it sends the result - a simple "Up"-arpeggio - to ZynAddSubFx. For reference, a bass drum from hydrogen (also controlled by seq24) was added.
This is the result. I think, it sounds quite remarkable.
I hope to get inspiration for song writing from this.
Today is just the first day, the script is working.
