When it comes to house and techno in Portugal, few people can match up to DJ Vibe. A hard-working DJ and producer, he’s been involved with music since he was 15, and is widely recognised both inside and outside his native country as its most renowned electronic music export. Vibe’s musical journey began when he assisted his father at a record shop located in downtown Lisbon. This establishment served as a crucial hub for DJs to acquire the latest imported vinyl records, marking the beginning of Dj Vibe's passion for music. We're really delighted to be premiering Playground from Vibe & Bessone, Fragoso's latest EP on Home Made. Enjoy!

GIULIANO LOMONTE - "The Sound of Garden 001" AFTER CAPOSILE - 28.05.23

North Phase and ADR share duties on this four track split EP, each dropping two tracks, although all four of them are firm dancefloor-filling candidates. North Face's 'Breaks Away' adds a few retro rave flourishes to a beat that's a distant cousin of Zinc's '138 Trek' and a bouncy, bumping bass holding the whole thing together. 'Sound Connection' has a hypnotic charm that nods to Fluke and early Underworld, although choppier and less linear in rhythmic approach. Aside from being probably the best named track we've come across in 2023 so far, ADR's 'Ned Flanders Hot Chocolate' is skippy enough to be 4x4 garage but with its scratched asides and cheeky, funky b-line has a unique personality, while 'Comet Relief' nods to the progressive house of the early 90s with an unexpected xylophone-like twist. It's all good, as they used to say.

Rowan x Bessone ─ Past Life [BLISS016]

Bessone and Charles Lazer are longtime friends. They spend endless hours in the studio, whether playing, digging, or producing. Together, they are the creators of the event Maratona, where long sets are the cherry on top. They are also behind Home/Made, a label showcasing the best of Portuguese talent, which has been making waves on dance floors and at festivals worldwide. Charles Lazer is also one half of the duo Lazer Mike. This set was recorded at Pitch the Beach in Aveiro, where the closing of the event was entrusted to these two.
