"Echoes in the Fog" - The climax of Abberline’s journey. Guided by Crowe’s final ciphered messages, Abberline discovers the ritual to sever the entity’s grip: the vessel must die, and another must bear the curse. In a derelict church drowned in fog, Abberline faces Crowe, who flickers between monstrous host and pleading friend. With the pendant shielding him, Abberline drives the ritual blade home, granting Crowe release while binding the Codex’s curse into himself. As Crowe whispers his final thanks, the veil shudders and closes, but whispers still linger in the fog. Abberline, marked and forever changed, steps into the night as both detective and vessel—the hunter and the haunted.
