Jaunt is a UK imprint that aims for a timeless sound having featured music and remixes by artists like Fred P, Mike Dehnert, Basic Soul Unit, Bleak, and the owners Blackhall & Bookless.

Kicking off the celebration of their ten year anniversary and following three VA releases, they have put together a remix package including reworks from Inland, Jonas Kopp, Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff, along with Gian.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the Inland rework. A British producer who now resides in Berlin, his much loved sound has been released on high quality labels ranging from Figure, Nonplus, Ostgut Ton, as well as his own Counterchange Recordings. His take on “Spirit” from the label bosses is a pacey affair with a deep soul. Using gritty, throbbing synths that increase in intensity, the soft vocal chants create a distinctive Detroit inspired tapestry full of character.

Throughout his career, Roger Semsroth has followed a deep intuition for experimentation in sound, wrapping club music around eerie microtonal motifs and industrial sensibilities. This new work for Tresor takes a step forward, as the first true techno album from Sleeparchive, where his previous LPs have exhibited themselves more conceptually, or under different names and his Nord Vest label.

Semsroth has been active in electronic music since the late 90s. He received initial attention first for his electro productions under the alias Skanfrom and the 80s minimal synth inspired Television Set. These projects echoed his love for these sounds, which the East Berliner had steadily immersed himself with after the end of the GDR. Upon hearing the bleeps of Mika Vainio and Plastikman, he began to engage with his strain of techno. Over the last decade, he has focused on his Sleeparchive alias, which dates back to 2004. Alongside close friend DJ Pete, he performs live techno as TR-101. His relationship with Tresor began in 2011, first releasing the Ronan Point EP and following up with the crucial A Man Dies In The Street series in 2013.

With this new album, Sleeparchive's impact on the techno sound is ever more relevant. Awaking in constant locomotion, locked-in, unrelenting and dry. Sleeparchive’s churning loops etch visions of tight minimalism at times densely frenetic and others serenely galactic. This predilection continues throughout the four sides on the album, eschewing conventional arrangement styles with gradual probabilistic change. Tracks such as 'Needle' and 'Peccant' offer up precise, sinewy techno. 'Leave' recalls the Detroit sound of Terrence Dixon, with its cascading synth tones and droning atmospheres. The album closes with a different version of 'Trust' to that found on last year’s Revised Recordings EP released on Tresor, with its now-familiar nerve-inducing pizzicato strings even more at the fore with its mechanic delivery.

Lars Huismann drops his 3rd release for Animal Farm and delivers what is his toughest for the label yet with the Cyclops EP. Since his last EP, Lars has begun to steadily rise up in profile and has released with such luminary labels as Glasgow’s own Soma Records as well as the the fledging Voxnox Records out of Berlin. His sound continues to mature with this latest release and is packed full of hard hitting rhythmic textures and high end sonic destruction.

Straight from the confines of her chosen Berlin home, @ladystarlightnyc impresses with an update of her singular, machine-driven techno. Ranging from banging to introspective, this record shows the artist at her most versatile yet, pairing her signature bone-dry analog output with emotive atmospherics and playful vibrancy.
Starting out deep, A1 contrasts uptempo acid licks with grand layers of strings, followed by the slowly building, equally vibey A2. Panoramic washes create an ambiance of space, the elastic kick steadily holding down the floor until a late swash of percussion seals the deal.
The flip carries one of Starlight’s most abrasive moments, featuring rave-style sirens right out the gate, treated to some crazy live filtering with epic acidic effects. Mysterious grooves on the last track, its offbeat synth swaying an electric tension, restrained yet powerful.
