Learning to sail is fairly easy -- if you’re not worried about doing it well. Or at least that’s what The Bearded Man thought at first… “How hard could it be?” he said to himself as he climbed aboard the tiny Sunfish in the calm waters of Jamaica. Sure, he had a local guide to help him out, accompanying him and yelling instructions at him from another Sunfish. Now you might think English is English, but when spoken with a heavy accent (especially under dangerous circumstances), that’s not the case at all. A strong tailwind picked up, filling our hero’s sails, carrying him straight towards the swimming beach. The guide yelled: “Pull on the sheet line rope man!!” But The Bearded Man couldn’t understand a word, nor did he know what a sheet line rope even was. Before he knew it, he found himself sailing over the markers into the swimming area, screaming at unsuspecting tourists to get out of the way. In a last ditch effort, he was able to steer the boat to the shore, awkwardly crashing it in the middle of the swim beach. Hundreds of people were looking at him, terrified. As he got out of the boat, he was glad to be alive if more than a little embarrassed. Still, the waters were cool, the day was beautiful, and he had no problem whatsoever letting the sun put a smile on his face.

Le Coq Sportif and Future Classic have joined forces again for a huge finale in their series of Australian covers of classic French artists.

The fourth instalment is from Sydney band New Navy - recently picked by the Sydney Morning Herald as 2012's 'Next Big Thing' - doing a very special cover of Télépopmusik's 'Breathe'.

Télépopmusik are a French trio that established a new sound in French electronic music in the early 2000's with their peers and compatriots Air, Le Rythmes Digitales and Dimitri From Paris. 'Breathe' featured the guest vocals of singer Angela McCluskey on the group's debut album 'Genetic World' and went on to break into the US and UK charts and be nominated for a Grammy Award in 'Best Dance Recording'.

New Navy have stripped out all the electronic elements of the original and replaced with their signature clean bright guitars, island percussion and Ben McInerney's rich vocals. New Navy took some seriously big strides in 2011 with their summer hits 'Zimbabwe' and 'Tapioca' carving up national youth broadcaster triple j and community stations all year and nabbing a spot on the prestigious triple j Hottest 100 list.

Preferred to be called as a fellowship rather than a band, Homogenic is a party of three with combination of their own uniquely strong individualities gathered in the same vision in music. Homogenic (same pronounced in english or bahasa) began their story in 2002 from only 2 women with the same visions and ambitions until the one and only guy joined and completed it all. Homogenic itself inspired by the world’s best-known Icelandic musician, Bjork, without trying to imitate her style or tunes.

Formed by Dina Dellyana (rhythm programming, vocoded vocals, synths, pcm piano, guitar), Grahadea Kusuf (analog synths, computer sequencing programming) and Risa Saraswati (then replaced by Amandia Syachridar) (vocalist), their music created not only by the influnce of music but also the influnce of emotions and beautiful living things in the world, whole packaged in electronic pop. 

Homogenic just trying to simplify electronic music with slightly female voice pop then blend it with a bit drum and bass and idm, the result is a sweet electronic pop tunes that might be and could be listened by broad ears without being labeled as a segmented music yet a majority pop. Essentially, they lived between two different world and happy for being there.Their eclecticism always longing to find its greatest, in a hail of lush melodies, playful instruments and stuttering beats. And now, Homogenic marked a dramatic shift and used their position and influence to help launching new acts, developed their new style as they establish themselves as a recording artist. they are changing from the heated first album to yet another invention as another bold step along their utterly unique musical path.
