Following on from the success of last year’s ​Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun​, Bedouin are back on Crosstown with two original and evocative creations.

“‘Wastelands’ is a special one for us that carries a message about the journey of humanity. ‘Flamma’, was made with the dance floor in mind using live percussive elements with a Hurdy-gurdy lead played by Guilhem Desq who flew from Toulouse to London to record last winter.”- Bedouin 

Wastelands sets the precedence for the EP with its melancholic ambience and poignant lyrics delivered from one half of the duo Rami. Flamma adopts heavier instrumental sections that create an eerie atmosphere with a pensive and dramatic build up. 

Brooklyn-based nomads Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe together form the DJ and production partnership of Bedouin. ​Since its incarnation, they’ve achieved notable success, with Mixmag naming them their number one Breakthrough Act of 2017. In the same year they launched their hugely successful residency, Saga, at Ibiza’s Heart. They’ve brought their distinct sound to a number of hot labels including Get Physical, Supernature, Cityfox, Kindisch and All Day I Dream. With their diverse musical influences clear in their productions, Bedouin look set to open up their sound to all the far-flung corners of the world.

Its popularity stems from intensely emotional production + the original lyrics pack a powerful message. Zamin, translated to earth in Persian, is a plea to humanity to be kind to the dying planet. This track has already solidified Rasi Z as one of Canada's strongest up-and-coming melodic/deep artist. Now Zamin gets a new breath of life with two fresh remixes alongside the original's official release.

Label boss + Canadian legend Siavash takes the deep elements of Zamin and uplifts them with a harder hitting deep and techy beat that is more dancefloor driven rather than its original gentle sway.

Opener Circles is a tangle of dreamy pads and wistful vocals, with gleaming synths and undulating drums complementing Felix Raphael’s pensive lyrical incantations.

A walk on the tribal side, Kala combines introspective melodies with relentless percussion. Indigenous chants accent the mystic rave atmosphere, building up to an immersive, hypnotizing climax. Equally mesmerizing, but channeling a more constant energy is Amari, taking us on a dynamic journey with occasional bursts of sonic color. A fan favourite from Anjunadeep 11, 'Overtones' became renowned for its killer breaks and addictive synth riff. Heavily influenced by the sound of classic UK house music, the track has been one of the label standouts of 2020. 

A year on, Anjunadeep presents two stunning remixes from LA's Promnite and Russia’s PROFF. Boasting a back-catalogue of hip-hop and dance, and production credits with the likes of Katy Perry, Lil Yachty, and A-Trak, Promnite demonstrates a further talent for melodic and deep house in his Anjunadeep debut, offering a gripping four-to-the-floor take on the original. 

First heard on Anjunabeats Volume 15, PROFF’s remix is imbued with a classic progressive house flavour, playing the main riff through a punchy drum mix that gives way to an elegant breakdown of strings and arpeggios.

Originally from Sydney, Frost has released on Mau5trap, alongside official remixes for the likes of ZHU and Sofi Tukker. His crisp production illustrates why he has garnered support from industry heavyweights such as Pete Tong.
