Having already appeared on Flying Circus Recordings with a killer collaboration with Maga back in 2019,
DJ & producer Nhii goes on a solo venture with his new single ‘Closer’ featuring Shrii. Remixes are
provided by Yulia Niko and Rony Seikaly, and the package is sealed off with another sweet production
from the Brookyln based German artist.
In its original mix, ‘Closer’ is a pulsing and peppy slice of mystical and engrossing dance music, lightly
dipped in reverb, and featuring a infectious vocal performance from Shrii, all delivered with the
sophistication and elegance one would expect for a Flying Circus release.
Mannheim based Yulia Niko supplies the first of the remixes of ‘Closer’. The rising DJ/producer has hugely
impressed via releases on esteemed labels like Watergate, 8Bit, Rebellion and Get Physical, and on her
remix deploys a effervescent acid line and dubby chords whilst chopping up and twisting Shrii’s vocal for a
pure transcendental workout.
Lebanese/US producer Rony Seikaly turns in the second remix on this bustling EP. Fueled by an early love
of US house music, Seikaly has gone on to forge a sound and style that has graced labels like Moon Harbour,
Voltaire Music as well as his own Stride imprint. His deep and seductive remix really works a treat here.
Closing the EP, Nhii pops in a second original production with ‘White Box’. Melodic synths bounce off a
mechanical yet funky rhythm, soft kicks and deft percussion propel this hypnotizing and graceful track, and
if a fitting finale to a stand out release on Audiofly’s established label.

#PlasticFreeParty is a collection of conscientious, green-hearted tunes from some of our favourite artists, all brought together to highlight the incredible work being done by our friends at Bye Bye Plastic, the disruptive nonprofit working to eliminate single-use plastics in the music industry and restore Earth balance. The album will be officially launched at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event with a party organised in collaboration with Levantine House in the luxurious W Amsterdam on release day, Thursday 20th October. A world-first, ground-breaking non-vinyl physical version of the album is also in the works.

Curated by Parisian DJ duo Chambord and released on BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA label, #PlasticFreeParty brings together 14 new tracks from artists like BLOND:ISH, Shiba San, Vander & Deer Jade, Urmet K, Zigan Aldi and Chambord themselves. 100% of the album’s profits will be forwarded to the Bye Bye Plastic Foundation, enabling them to increase their visibility and message.

Chambord explained how the compilation came to fruition; “In 2020, we worked with Bye Bye Plastic for our first live performance in France. During this time, we gathered a group of friends and associates to create fundraising for this cause and have been working together ever since. We met with Camille from the BBP foundation, and together with Blond:ish we decided to create a music compilation to raise funds. Together we can hopefully achieve our goals and make a difference.”

‘#PlasticFreeParty’ is released on ABRACADABRA from 20th October 2022.

'A year after the debut EP of Brian Cid on the label, we are very happy to announce that he is back with a new one titled 'Message X'. Again, really abstract and hypnotic productions, with a very high tension. This collection of tracks is a journey that slowly evolves itself into a real exploration.

The first track ‘Shoreless Ocean’ is the slowest one of the three and has a great groove on the low-end in combination with its percussion. Its repeating main synth brings you in a hypnotic state of mind after which some surprising elements come to the front. 

‘Golden Key’ transits this state of mind into the track. On top of its static, but yet dynamic and groove-creating percussion, some very extraterrestrial synths are hovering its way throughout the arrangement. 

The final track is the title track of the EP. Here the tempo goes up more in order to go towards an impressive techno experience. The track consists of long-stretched atmospheric elements with a fast-tempo deep stab below, which reaches a real depth around the middle of the composition. After this depth a unique use of snares has been implemented by this great producer. '

Premiere: Brian Cid - Shoreless Ocean [Infinite Depth]

Jacob Groening's record label Kamai Music drops a new collaborative release by Paul Svenson and Alex Twin with melodic grooves, organic percussion and indie vibes.

Both based in Dubai, the pair have previously joined forces for a release on the Love Matters record label, but each of the guys are also successful solo artists.

Alex Twin has dropped his epic tracks with Afro rhythms on imprints such as Bar 25 Music, Pipe & Pochet and All Day I Dream, in addition to being a talented DJ who has played international shows everywhere from Monaco to Ibiza. Often playing on the same line-up as legends such as H.O.S.H, Black Coffee, Damian Lazarus and Tale Of Us.

Paul Svenson is originally from France, but has been an influential DJ in Dubai's electronic music scene since he moved there. He is also a skilled producer who's dropped spellbinding tracks on record labels such as LW Recordings and Idyllik Records.

"Decode" opens the release with a suspense-building intro with sweeping synths and a chugging bassline. Trippy vocals and its electric synth stabs provide the focal point, while the deep atmospherics and flowing, organic percussion help create a spine-tingling groove.

"Joined Hands" is second on the release and it's got melodic synth chords playing cosmic melodies. Its stripped-back percussion allows the synths room to breathe, while the congas and bassline provide the forward momentum which makes the track perfect for the dance floor.
