On the darker side of the house music market, 'Very Different' is designed for the more late night selectors with driving drums and brooding synth-work, it's sure to move any dance-floor.

House music legend 'Gorge' is on the remix with his sensational signature groove and bass-line driven take on the original.

Italian native Cristina Lazic returns to Rebellion following her recent release on the Souls Vol.2 VA last year. And now the rising star delivers an accomplished three-track EP for the Crosstown Rebels sub-label.

Talking about the release, Cristina explains: “Burning is an EP that will accompany people in a variety of situations - from introspective journeys in moments of reflection, to social gatherings with friends and all the way to the dance floor. It consists of three tracks that contain a mix of minimal sounds with groovy bass, with female / male catchy vocals and unique elements full of surprises.” Delving further into the creation of the EP she reveals: “In Mirror I was inspired to include a guitar tone after listening to the great track “Taff” by Leonidas and Traumer; Jazzy Feeling is the result of an effort to combine minimal with funk and jazz music. Finally, with the lead track Burning I wanted to obtain a happy dance floor sound to make people dance, including unexpected elements, like seventh chords.”

In the title track Burning, a playful bassline drives the track as floaty vocals ride throughout the dreamy layers of chords and percussion. Jazzy Feeling is deep and powerful with a solid bassline, infectious vocals and an inspiriting atmosphere. Last up, Mirror rounds off the EP, once again demonstrating Cristina’s adept skill for creating hypnotic layers, sensual tones and rolling dancefloor music that can also be enjoyed anywhere at any time.

Born in Milan and raised in London, Cristina Lazic started playing the piano when she was six and grew up composing music. Emerging into the spotlight only four years ago, Cristina has performed at iconic clubs and festivals around the world. She also caught the attention of Pioneer DJ Italy, who chose her as an ambassador and example for aspiring female DJs. Her releases can be found on Bondage Music, Creature Records and Rebellion. 'Catalan beatsmith Piem is back with more of his explosive sounds in the form of his Temptation single with Mizbee.

Piem was last on this label a year ago when collaborating with Jay De Lys. He remains at the forefront of the underground and is a mainstay on the likes of Relief, Knee Deep in Sound and Crosstown Rebels. Next to his solid productions, he is the Music Curator at the W Hotel in Barcelona. This time out, he links with house vocalist Mizbee who has been supplying superb top lines for a decade.

The magnificent ‘Temptation' starts with a stripped-back, rubbery groove and wonky melodic bassline. It quickly becomes a cheeky and playful track thanks to the seductive female vocal. It's warming steamy, and as the chord stabs and jostling drums build, it's sure to become an anthemic tune that unifies the whole dance floor. This is another dance floor heater from this pair.'

Gareth Cole is the ambitious Brit who has been carving a name for himself as a purveyor of fine house and techno both as a producer and DJ. 

Here he signs up to Steve Bug’s Sublease Music for three slick and impactful slices of deep, techy house. First up is Signal, a low-slung groover with hypnoic keys, and a thick, rounded bottom end driving the track forward. 

On Courage, the energy is amped somewhat, with plenty of space thanks to the dubby, minimal production. 

Gareth notes “I was very inspired by music and DJ sets from Guy J - there is this sort of hypnotic groove which locks you into the vibe and music. I designed a really nice lead stab on Sylenth which is my go-to synth and it repeats during the majority of the tune and then other elements play around it to keep it interesting”. 

The final track is On The Edge, delving deep into Cole’s roots in techno - slowly building on the groove with extra elements to create a hypnotic, techy atmosphere sure to set dancefloors alight this summer.

Italian maestros Leon and NiCe7 join forces for the next release on Crosstown Rebels. Released in May Please Don’t Leave features a remix from label affiliate Serge Devant, providing his signature after hours groove.

Please Don’t Leave opens with a striped back vocal courtesy of Sam Threadgold, it develops with a hypnotic melody and layered percussive sounds. The vocal hook hints at a long-lost lover whilst the pulsing beat draws the listener in. New York’s Serge Devant is on remix duty and it’s a typically minimal affair with an acid-tinged bassline and a nod to the early hours. Also, NiCe7 provides a club friendly edit on the B2.

A mainstay in the house scene for over ten years, Leon has produced a number of recognised tracks on labels including; Saved Records, Defected, VIVa, ReBirth whilst event highlights include; Sunwaves, Pacha and Ministry Of Sound. NiCe7 are famed for their chart topping hits and high energy shows. The duo have performed at Space, Watergate and Ministry of Sound with releases on; Snatch!, Noir Music, Get Physical, Gruuv and Mother. Rising the ranks from an early age, Serge Devant’s breakthrough was in 2005 with ‘Fearing Love’ on Emerald City. A firm favourite on Damian’s imprint, Serge Devant last featured on the label in 2018 featuring an Archie Hamilton remix. A regular on the global scene, Devant has toured with Music On, Circoloco, Day Zero, Paradise and Black Coffee.
