This spring saw seasoned XYZ contributor Koelle team up with multi-instrumentalist Reza Safinia on Reverie, a two-sided offering which saw the union of electronic tones and orchestral influences into a dance floor affair. As the fall arrives to Montréal, we're pleased to present our biggest remix compilation to date. 6 artists from the broad melodic house & techno spectrum will offer their versions of the tracks over the weeks to come. The second volume of the Reverie remixes showcases talent all the way from Germany to Brazil, with the mandatory stopover through the label's home city of Montréal.

Fresh off her first transatlantic play, Laure offers an organic groove for her subtle remix of 'Reverie'. The elements weaving in and out are highlighted by percussion layers which harmonize with the piano from the original.

'Between fantasy and reality, there are songs that takes us to distant places, allowing our imagination to find its own trance. In this eternal search for transcendence, Awka - DJ, producer, and head of the Words Not Enough record label - invites listeners on a journey through the human mind in his latest release, "Unconscious Rhythm." The work features two original compositions: "La Búsqueda Eterna" and "Unconscious Rhythm," the latter a collaboration with DJ and producer Sonnero.

"La Búsqueda Eterna" transports us to a world of exoticism and enchantment, where Hispanic influences evoke nostalgia and memories of distant lands. The percussions pulse like heartbeats, inviting us to dive into the deep rhythms of our minds, intelligently combining the characteristic elements of contemporary Organic House.

In "Unconscious Rhythm," Awka and Sonnero invite listeners to a solitary dance, in their own time. The strings in the track interweave with the sophistication of Deep House, creating a hypnotic and magnetic atmosphere, like thoughts that flow silently into our unconscious.

Matur's Botanica label is pleased to present the second release from Russian artist Pesht Gore with a track titled Aria. The artist writes that he wanted to create a track that would be different from his previous ones in terms of character. And he succeeded, as the track turned out to be very energetic with elements of ethnics. During the year the track went through many revisions, and Pesta Hora did not try in vain. Because he succeeded. The owner of Matur label also decided to remix Aria's track, trying to keep the atmosphere of impulsiveness and brutality, adding vocal inserts to match the title of the track.

Exclusive Active Child 'Johnny Belinda (MDK Remix)'

Active Child's tune 'Johnny Belinda' gets the remix treatment from Dutch electronic music legend Matthew Dekay The producer has been responsible for one of Innervisions' biggest hits, 'Lost In A Moment', and also produced the groundbreaking EP 'Amity' including the summer hit 'Fangtango' on Maeve. With his remix for Active Child's track 'Johnny Belinda' Dekay once again proves his ability to turn an original track into his own piece of work. Melodic melancholic synth chords shape the body of MDK's remix approach and are set with a reserved bass line that fully unfolds its punch as the remix proceeds. But it certainly is the vocal that puts its mark on the track and Dekay manages to make the interaction between the vocals and soundscapes sound so easy. 

Active Child's EP 'Johnny Belinda Remixes' will be released April 30th, 2018 on Subtract Music.
