Kittball concludes its fruitful year with a high calibre single by Germany’s Peer Kusiv entitled ‘Drowning’ featuring vocalist Rauschaus and a remix from Berlin’s Bebetta. Anika turns up the deep slow original some +10 BPM with a power house tech house ride. Out now on Kitball! 

Rising to great acclaim with his debut album ‘Natur & Techno’ in 2012, a versatile long player that amassed millions of views on Youtube, Peer Kusiv’s productions are highly regarded for drawing inspiration from various different musical styles, including jazz, pop and hip hop. With recent appearances on labels like Poesie Musik and Eleatics Records, Kusiv’s approach to progressive house is highly respected and his debut on Kittball Records demonstrates why.Joined by frequent collaborator Rauschhaus, ‘Drowning’ highlights Peer’s atmospheric prowess. Just when you think that Jannowitz Records is definitely ready for a specific genre drawer to be put it, we will surprise you. The label's idea has always been to bend boundaries between house, techno and everything in between. So it's only natural to see melodic house heroes Mia Mendi & Rafael Cerato on this newest 1710 EP. The British Mia Mendi boys recently contributed an outstanding podcast for the well known Jannopod series just a few months ago. You know them from their releases on imprints such as Stil vor Talent, Suah or Lauter Unfug. With 1710 their first real JAW release is a tribute to the state of the art melodic music that has been ruling the Beatport charts throughout 2018 and is the perfect fit for Jannowitz records who has been setting standards in Germany's club culture more and more over the last few months and years.The second track on the release is a collaboration with French tech house king Rafael Cerato who is a producer through and through. His works have been featured on Suara, Diynamic and Get Physical - just to name the top of the iceberg. The British-French combo teamed up and worked with what they know best. Mia Mendi's dreamy melodies swirling over Rafael's bumpy tech house beat to create a track that will work at peak time as well as at the after hour.

'The fifth release of the label 'Infinite Depth' will be in the name of the very talented German producer aacht. He created two pretty minimal and deep originals, of which one is in collaboration with the French duo Meastral. My Flower and Beswerda each managed to compose a more uplifting remix of the originals. 

The third track called 'Etoile Mourante' is the collaboration between aacht and Meastral. In this minimal track the darker part of the EP is exposed through the heavy bass and frightening background sounds. But unless the darkness in this track they have accomplished to add some crazy groove to it.

In the remix 'Etoile Mourante', Beswerda made use of the minimality of the original by building a new layer of recognizable melodies and keeping the groove in the lower parts. This remix brings a more harmonious and powerful end to the EP, which will go into the books as 'ID005'.'

Continuing his assault on the Proton Music catalogues, Rick Pier O'Neil's 'One Side of the Underground' created an impressive combination of original and remix material. Part of September 2018's Vol. 2, 'Another Side' now receives a pair of new remixes on Yin and Yang.

Hailing from the Colombo capital, Danidu Parinda & Hasith Balasuriya are both successful artists in their own rights. Influenced by icons of the underground dance scene, Danidu hit the headlines with his 'Venna' EP for We Are The Underground in January 2019, while other work for Hydrogen and Massive Harmony have continued a growing portfolio. Similarly, Hasith has seen a nascent production career influenced by the iconic names of Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo and as a regular on such behemoths as BC2, 3xA and Tuxedo's Electronic Tree. 

Joining forces in July 2018 with a remix of Sleg's 'Arusman' for Massive Harmony, a pair of further reworks for PHW Elements and Soundteller now see Danidu & Hasith debut on Yang. Their bouncing, groove-oriented affair combines dancefloor rhythms with a series of pulsating melodic sequences that bristle with verve and dynamism. Taking O'Neil's motifs as a starting point, the Sri Lankan duo have created a raft of original phrases that work intelligently alongside original components in the track's second half.

Just a few months after EdOne purveyed his own reinterpretation to
Ivory & Auggie’s leaden prototype, demonstrating a fine
comprehension of “Basic Rhythm,” he returns on MoBlack Records,
now alongside Martin HERRS, and INVŌKER on remix duties, with
“Tatalina.” On A side, the Spaniards delicately unfold a poignant
sojourn that wanders and diffuses the rims of isolation and
belonging. The tender, 6:28 minute aural escapade starts off with a
simple ingress, pummeled by an inquisitive bassline into a gripping
melodic procession. Tatalina escalates to a euphoric stillness
transcended by haunting piano chords, but breaks free when
intermittently disrupted by deep synthetic pulsations, evoking the
frailty of memory and vulnerability of emotion.
French rising star INVŌKER deploys his empowered rendition of the
title track, pulling a bit less feeling from emotion and a little more
feeling from sense. Tension and groove pull and reverb in this
particular tug of play, where space is dark, energy is incandescent
and the texture of sound is moist and locomotive. MB384 sits in the
juncture of memory, motion and emotion, a pursuit of that fleeting
moment that is only present in one instant, as well as an attempt to
prolong its existence through sound.
