Kemper Temper

On this episode of F.B.I. Pathology Report we explore the Cecil Hotel in Downtown [Skid Row], Los Angeles. Now named "Stay On Main" [due to reputation issues], despite the fact, [since it's downfall,] the notorious 19-floor & 700 room hotel housed sex workers, drug dealers & homeless people, it also been a lane for serial killers such as Richard Ramirez and Jack Untewerger. 
Throughout the years, it's being said there have been occured at least 16 sudden or unexplained deaths in or around the hotel, whilst Amy Price [Cecil Hotel Manager 2007-2017] made a statement contending there were about at least 80 deaths [during her tenure.] Including the Black Dahlia murder and the mysterious disappearance & death of Canadian student Elisa Lam [, who was found in one of the water tanks on the roof of Cecil, and other incidents such as Pauline Otton's suicide when she jumped off the window of the seventh floor landing on a pedestrian below, fatally killing both of them,] and many others, the Hotel remains, as a reporter have called it, "a hotbed for death."

This episode is structured & influenced by the idea of the human brain's system [and of course, brain itself] is being a construction, and it's regions, rooms [such as the amygdala, prefrontal cortex etc. and neural circuits that modulate aggressive behaviors that include orbifrontal cortex, hypothalamus, periaqueductal gray & hippocampus, their corridors.]
Each track selection [& it's mixture with another or more] represents a room, whilst each room, represents a felony. A construction room capacity's [in this specific case the Cecil Hotel] large enough to fit man's capability to commit every possible felony & crime known [or/and yet unknown] to mankind.

The Undertaker’s Tapes moniker from Prague based french 
born artist Léo Hivert has built his sound through years of 
musical practice. 
From punk bands from his early age, remains the raw and 
relentless energy of his EBM productions while he develops 
the cathartic aspect through noise, power electronics and 
down tempo industrial. 
Fascinated by Poe and Blake, The Undertaker’s Tapes finds 
his voice in subjects such as death, longing, existentialist and 
belief questioning through the prism of his own experience 
and sensitivity. 
Collaborating closely with visual artist Chloé Burkiewicz, 
his artistic approach also involve in a more contemporary 
way references such as Hermann Nitsch or John John. This 
strong attraction for A/V arts, performances and extreme 
representations both ideological and emotional follows in 
the wake of these affinities with a more institutional Art but 
not less experimental.

F.B.I. Pathology Report 006 w/ Morgan Hall invites The Undertaker's Tapes (20.09.23)

On "Bruised", his third full-length album for Amek, Bulgarian producer Evitceles probes even deeper into his botomless and tainted well of influences. As hinted in some of the project's other, most recent, releases, his music has become even more guitar and vocal-centered, with beats and basslines feeling somehow colder and simpler. While the artist's signature aggressive, at times lo-fi, approach to production makes the overall sound of the album feel gritty and punishing, "Bruised" also has a tasty and deranged post-punk flavor to it.

Like every other bit of Etien Slavchev’s constantly morphing discography as Evitceles, the album doesn’t stay in the same place for long. It toys with us through drastic mood switches, innate intensity, and laconic but emotional lyrics and vocals. We never know where Evitceles’ music is headed, but we want to be a part of this journey. You’re (kind of) welcome too!
