Over the last year, I have attempted many times to come back to production. The first attempt was in January 2021 with two of the tracks on this EP. The momentum sadly came to an end when my grandmother Juanita passed away. Over the next year I would go on to only make on instrumental, the lowest output I've had since I started producing under this name over 7 years ago.
Finally in January 2022 this year, I again felt the motivation to complete this project so I decided to get back to work.
I produced the final 3 tracks on this EP in that time and intended to make more, before my father passed away in February of this year. I was devastated. My hero growing up, the man I strived to be was suddenly and without warning taken away from in the blink of an eye.  Waking up everyday became a struggle, let alone making music that I already long ago lost passion for. Less than a month later in march, my dog Rosie passed away. This month a week after my birthday, my baby bird Bruno passed away. I have suffered so much loss and have all but given up on this project. 
Many different things have lead to this moment. Growing out of being the young kid desperate to make music and express himself who was hungry to do anything I needed to do to make it as an artist. Watching what little chance I had to come back to this project being swept away as someone used this name to grow themselves as I sat idly by making to attempts of creating music. Reject Squad breaking up and losing from my life not only my partner in music, but my best friend. Losing Michael before we could do another show due to COVID shutting down the world. Watching the rest of the people I made music and fond memories with slowly ceasing to make music themselves. The immense loss and grief I have felt since the beginning of 2021. 
In order to help my family, I have relocated from Eugene Oregon to back home with my family in small rural Oregon. New but old place. New work. New relationships and connections. I have outgrown the limitations of this project.
It is because of this that I am deciding to officially retire this project. This is the last project I will release under the name of Hank Trill. Once I click upload, it will be no more. I went through a lot for these 5 tracks to see the light of day, and I want as many people as possible to listen to my "swan song" of sorts.  I will try to make sure that happens, but after that it will be time to move on. This isn't a retirement from music, but the need for a rebirth. Life comes and goes, and from death comes new life. 
I dedicate this project to my  father David Hill, my grandmother Juanita Hill Miramontes, my baby dog Rosie, and my bird Bruno.
