A chilled out piano piece designed for an easy afternoon. Imagine the still quiet of a meadow with a swishing of the long grass in the meadow - that kinda vibe.  Little known fact - this improvisation was literally that - recorded in one take. Little bit of editing for balance.. but I like it.. hope you do too!

Improvisation in A-minor

"The Angel Peri" by Chiaki Yamazaki:
This piece was composed for a 7-minute ballet about the Persian angel Péri. The story begins with her sadness over the conflicts and suffering of humanity. Determined to bring peace, Péri decides to teach the world how to live in harmony. Though humans are initially uncertain, they eventually embrace her teachings and find happiness. The world celebrates her and thanks her for the peace she has brought, before Péri returns to heaven.

この曲は、7分のバレエのために作曲しました。物語は、イランの天使ペリが人間の争いや苦しみに悲しむところから始まります。そして彼女は世界に平和を教えることを決意します。最初は不安な人々も、やがて彼女の教えを受け入れ、幸せを感じるようになります。最後に、ペリは人々の感謝を受けて、天に帰ります。

The first steps
The clock ticks slow beneath grey skies,
a day that sighs, a heart that hides.
Blue hangs heavy in each refrain,
a melody of quiet pain.
The coffee cold, the paper read,
lost thoughts echo in the head.
A bench, a gaze, an empty street,
where silence and memory meet.

De eerste stappen
De klok tikt traag in grijze lucht,
een dag die zucht, een hart dat vlucht.
Blauw hangt zwaar aan elke toon,
een melodie van stil gewoon.
De koffie koud, de krant gelezen,
gedachten dwalen, onvolprezen.
