Fértil Discos beckons you through a new portal, “Fértil Club,” a new series curated by DJ Nim through which the heartbeat of ancient South America meets the pulse of the future. The inaugural transmission arrives from Pawkarmayta, a solo project of Peruvian artist Anthony Paucarmayta. His album, “Aramu” (Serpent of the Andes), is a nine-track ceremonial voyage composed in C minor, a rich and expressive key known for creating music with a strong emotional impact, which can influence a listener's mood and state of mind. Crafted during the pandemic's silence, the work draws from Paucarmayta’s dedication to sound healing and his vast archive of Peru's auditory landscapes – forest winds, flowing water, and avian conversations collected over decades. Rooted in his classical training from Cusco, the music weaves ceremonial tradition with electronic minimalism, transforming field recordings into a potent medicine for the mind and a vessel for escape.

Premiered here, AWKA unfolds as a deep, percussive meditation anthem. A low, steady BPM anchors the atmosphere, over which soft, resonant vocal hooks emerge, enveloped by an ethereal, phantasmagoric layer of airy vocals that float like a spectral choir through the mix. The result is a profoundly hypnotic soundscape – a slow-burning fusion of rhythm and aura that feels both ancient and transcendent, embodying the album's ceremonial purpose through its serpentine, undulating flow.
