ndré Pahl (Berlin) is known for his Safari mixes—pitched down cinematic journeys through uncharted seas, forbidden deserts and distant galaxies.

His sound tends to oscillate between psychedelic trips, spaced out electronics and voodoo percussion, exploring the slowed-down heartbeat of danceable music.

He had a rendez-vous with Mexico City’s lunatic music scene while living there for some years, co-running the label “Nuevos Ricos” and starting to DJ in shady neighbourhood street parties and art happenings inside jammed subway stations.

Listening to André Pahl’s sets is like being compelled to push yourself inside a forest even though you know it'll be dangerous — head first, then the whole body, submerged deep into a strange jungle world, partly solid, partly made of shimmering liquids.

The second hour is an extra special treat—Candace Price from Philadelphia steps out from behind the projector and on to the decks. Candace has been the cornerstone for Mysteries of the Deep and 1694’s video and graphic design, and contributed gorgeous visuals for a handful of Bright Patterns at the height of last year’s lockdown. Her creative direction is inimitable, and I’m honored to host her as a musical guest this time around. She can truly do it all.

My chest on vineyards was recorded in a small village near Tarragona (Catalonia). During those days the grape pickers were working hard to transform the sweet drop of grapes to exquisit wine.
Joan Gila is the curator of HOC radio (@hoc-radio) and half of the Binomi (@binomidjs) project.The most personal recordings, far from club music, are carried out with the premise of using the vinyls from his most personal collection. Closer to eclecticism, ambient, new age, among others.
