A Lana is the thirteenth guest of MISS DREAMZCAST, our weekly series celebrating the DJs we love as they grace us with the music that makes us smile and gets us dancing.

Alana Jordan, known by her artist name A Lana, is a brooklyn based deejay and talented up & comer in the New York City underground dance music scene. From her well-loved residency sets for the Flux party at bushwick staple-venue Bossa Nova Civic Club, to appearances at some of Brooklyns bigger clubs like Public Records, she has stood out for her deep & careful selection, symbolic storytelling, and sharp technical skill. All her sets are strictly vinyl, and her record collection runs the entire rainbow of dance music, but with firm roots in classic, uplifting house and disco. It comes as no surprise then, that her style is self-described as "always reaching deeper & deeper".

A few words about the mix: "this is my first true studio mix in a couple years, and it comes at a time when the existence and fabric of the things we cherish are increasingly threatened. I wanted this mix to reflect where I'm at as an artist in terms of technical development, but much more importantly, I set out to play songs that embody the freedom, togetherness and love that have always been the pillars of the dance music world. Reminders of strength, words of encouragement, and important affirmations that we have been dark places before, and we have always journeyed towards the light, together, as we will continue today as well as tomorrow. all my luv n' beats"  - A Lana
