Ice on the wires, frost on the ground
Cruel is your voice, it’s cold all around
Still there’s beauty, still there’s a thrill
Still want to break through, still you lie still

Winter is harsh here, surprisingly cold
Power is out now, I feel quite bold
Still you’re lovely, still looks may kill
I still want to kiss you, still always still

Dark in the house, ice creaks outside
An oak tree cracks open, it’s frozen inside
Still you lie sleeping, I doubt that I will
Racked by the shivers, still can’t hold still

Morning comes early, frost on the glass
I’m longing for contact, you take a pass
Still my hope lingers, hope a steep hill
Iced over, no traction, still I try still

I bring you coffee, in bed, dark and thick
You sip and then smile, caffeine does the trick
Still in your beauty, forgetting the chill 
Warm to each other, and after lie still  

Our minds often glacial, projecting a chill
Displacing our meaning, rejecting what’s real
Thawing this morning, as we sometimes will
Weathering winter, still in love, still
