Ever since Animal Trainer launched their global party campaign, the Swiss duo’s unique brand of ‘slow rave’ has captured the imaginations of countless electronic music lovers all over the world and spread their gospel to thousands, if not millions, of music lovers. Adrian Flavor and Samy Jackson are the two men behind Animal Trainer, a dynamic duo which grew up on a diet of the world’s very best electronic music artists in their hometown, Zurich. Driven by passion for the music and an insatiable appetite for the party, Adrian and Samy have become two of the hottest properties on the international circuit and represent the epitome of what Switzerland’s new generation of artists has to offer. Raised in a city with arguably the strongest club scene in Switzerland, Animal Trainer made their name through a series of parties called ‘Rakete’, which still take place at the infamous Hive club. The duo had already spent some time refining their skills as DJs before launching the event, but their sterling reputation was cemented at the club. It was only a matter of time before the ambitious duo pushed things a step further by injecting their love and passion into creating their own music. In the years since their first release Animal Trainer have maintained a constant focus on high quality club music, staying relevant when others have followed the hype, and evolving into a force to be reckoned with. Ohne Umwege geht es heute direkt zum nächsten Teil der Zukunftsdystopie von Simon Rucker. Gastmusikant ist heute der Produzent und Dj Daniel Rateuke, der auch einige seiner eigenen Schätze in diesem Podcast verarbeitet hat.

Der dunkle Panzerwagen fährt mit quietschenden Reifen auf den Vorplatz des Headquarters in Berlin. Es sieht aus wie in einem verdammten Agentenmovie. Aufgeregt hetzen die Scheibenwischer hin und her. Hin und her. Unermüdlich. Aussichtslos. Aus den beiden begleitenden Fahrzeugen springen jeweils zwei Männer im Anzug. Einer öffnet die Tür des Panzerwagens. Prym steigt aus und eilt an den Wachen entlang zum Eingang des kahlen Betonklotzes. Regen prasselt auf den Asphalt. Auf den Aktenkoffer, den er sich über den Kopf hält. Sturm rüttelt an den Linden entlang der Straße. Seriös schließen sich die Türen hinter den Eintretenden. Einige Minuten darauf sitzt Prym mit den Nationalministern, der Führung von UNIp und zwei Vertreterinnen von Die GoldeneLiga an einem langen Tisch. Er nimmt sein Namensschildchen zwischen die Finger, dreht es herum, sodass er seinen Namen lesen kann. Jacek Prym steht darauf. Und in der Zeile darunter, in kleinerer Schrift: EU-Präsidentschaft. Er fährt mit seinem Fingernagel in die Rille der Schrift. Es fühlt sich rau an. Seine Schultern beben. Er schaut durch die verglaste Front ins Wetter Berlins hinaus. Die Regentropfen schlagen gegen die Fenster, laufen in breiten Rinnsalen die glatte Oberfläche hinunter. Hier drin ist davon nichts zu hören.
Stunden der Verhandlungen später verlassen die Nationalminister die Konferenzhalle. Prym gibt sich keinen Illusionen mehr hin. Ihm ist klar, was jetzt passieren wird. Es ist längst beschlossene Sache...

I'm always pretty exhausted by the time burn night comes around and this year was no different. I showed up to the circle honestly somewhat dreading another 3 hr set and my 8th of the week. The silver lining was that it was with the lovely people I camped with in 2018, Floasis & Pineapple Motel. In fact, playing their Tuesday party that year was a highlight not only of the 10+ sets I played in 2018, but of all 8 of my burns at that point. The energy their crew brings to the dance floor is just fantastic...so I knew, even though I was tired, it was going to be great. I had a general idea of where they were going to be parked, so I entered the circle around that spot, hung a right and in retrospect that was the wrong decision as I ended up literally walking the entire circumference looking for their art car, the lonely submarine. If I would have taken a left, I would have been right there and not 30 min late. Anyway, what ensued was easily my favorite set of Burning Man 2019. It being my last set of the week, burn night, and one of my only night time sets, I felt the need to go higher energy/darker/heavier...so I did...and what a party we built in front of that submarine! Big love to Floasis/Pineapple Motel for having me again <3 Enjoyyy
