Toransumisshon veut dire transmission en japonais. La pièce a vu le jour en Mars 2017, dans le studio A du conservatoire de Bordeaux, réservé à la promo de composition électroacoustique. 

L'idée première fut de confronter différentes sonorités hétéroclites (conteur électrique, bois creu, eau, écluses, grillon, oiseaux, clé de voiture, tuile cassée, feuilles mortes, larve de capricorne, cigale, bruit de bouche, cadre de piano, cordes pincées, saxophone), pour créer une transparence et une fusion entre elles. 

Le résultat donne un bruit coloré omniprésent, tel un signal de transmission, sur des plans sonores à la fois microscopiques et macroscopiques,. L'intérêt étant de réitéré le langage sonore sous différentes facettes, tout en gardant une esthétique propre à l'entité de l'oeuvre.

Cette pièce a été lauréat du concours Banc d'Essai 2018, organisé par l'INA GRM, interprété à l'auditorium de Saint-Germain-des-Prés à Paris, sur l'acousmonium du GRM

Toransumisshon means transmission in Japanese. The piece was released in March 2017, in studio A at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux, reserved for the promotion of electroacoustic composition.

The first idea was to confront different heterogeneous sounds (electric storyteller, wood hollow, water, locks, cricket, birds, car key, broken tile, dead leaves, larva of capricorn, cicada, sound of mouth, piano frame, strings pinches, saxophone), to create transparency and a fusion between them.

The result is an omnipresent colored noise, like a transmission signal, on both microscopic and macroscopic sound levels. The interest is to reiterate the sound language in different facets, while keeping an aesthetic peculiar to the entity of the work.

This piece was laureate of the competition Test bench 2018, organized by the INA GRM, interpreted in the auditorium of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, on the acousmonium of the GRM

Dans la littérature grecque, Zéphyr est un vent violent ou pluvieux. Les textes ultérieurs l'associent à un vent d'ouest, doux et agréable. L'étymologie provient de zóphos, traduit comme ténèbres, région obscure. La mythologie le représente sous la forme d'un personnage aux ailes de papillon.

Pour l'industrie textile, il désigne une fine toile de coton, laine moderne filée et retordue par des fils de différentes couleurs, utilisé dans la confection de vêtements légers, de sous-vêtements.

La pièce sonore Zéphyr, est née en Août 2019, à l'occasion de la 5ème édition du prix PRESQUE RIEN. L'initiative du concours étant de confronter des sons d'archives de Luc Ferrari, afin d'en réaliser une œuvre, laissant une liberté totale dans le processus de création.

L'origine de Zéphyr a donc pris forme sur l'utilisation de ces fichiers sonores. Particulièrement sur une basse lancinante, présente de bout à bout de la pièce comme socle à son esthétique sonore, où s'articulent des micros changements rythmico-harmonique.

L'utilisation d'instruments à cordes traditionnels tels un santour perse, un erhu et un violon, tissent des liens étroits, dans la représentation de Zéphyr. Confrontés à des matières sonores organiques et synthétiques, l'ensemble dépeint un mouvement lent, presque immobile, afin d'en percevoir un minimalisme constant.

Entre tension et légèreté, transparence et fusion, Zéphyr se développe et cherche à se mouvoir sous la forme d'un personnage ailé, dans un univers impalpable et obscur, dans lequel il tente de prendre son envol.

In Greek literature, Zephyr is a violent or rainy wind. Subsequent texts associate it with a west wind, sweet and pleasant. The etymology comes from zóphos, translated as darkness, obscure region. Mythology represents it in the form of a character with butterfly wings.

For the textile industry, it refers to a fine cotton canvas, modern wool spun and twisted by threads of different colors, used in the manufacture of light clothing, underwear.

The sound piece Zéphyr, was born in August 2019, on the occasion of the 5th edition of the PRESQUE RIEN award. The initiative of the competition is to confront sounds of Luc Ferrari's archives, in order to realize a work, leaving a total freedom in the process of creation.

The origin of Zephyr has therefore taken shape on the use of these sound files. Particularly on a throbbing bass, it presents end to end of the piece as a base for its sound aesthetic, where micro rhythmic-harmonic changes are articulated.

The use of traditional string instruments such as a Persian santur, an erhu and a violin, weave close ties, in the representation of Zephyr. Confronted with organic and synthetic sound materials, the ensemble depicts a slow, almost motionless movement in order to perceive a constant minimalism.

Between tension and lightness, transparency and fusion, Zephyr develops and seeks to move in the form of a winged character, in an impalpable and dark universe, in which he tries to take flight.

Last winter, I went to Dunkirk where I took advantage of my trip to record factory noises and capture ambient energy. 

During the journey, I passed through Calais where I shared my seat with a migrant and was able to see the reality of the difficulties they encounter.   

This track pay to tribute them. Thanks Diane for your participation in this work and her interpretation of Ederlezi, an emblematic song from the Balkans.

MISERY LIGHTHOUSE

Here is my remix of Jean-Michel Jarre's project EōN. EōN is on smartphone application developed by JMJ and Sony corporation, in which you can listen to music that never ends. Algorithms use musical cells previously composed by Jean-Michel Jarre and trigger them harmoniously in constant development. 

The principle of this remix contest is to choose an extract from EōN lasting 48 seconds, and to use it as raw material to create a remix. In this way, each remix is unique, because each moment of EōN is unique.

I called my remix Oumuamua which means scout or messenger from the distant past.
