@gallegos_1991 is one of my all time favourite producers. Absolutely no question. He has a completely unique sound that to me sounds like it comes partly from his incredible sample digging as well as his one of a kind drum sampling. It’s hard to say for sure what it is but all I know is that I can hear one of this tracks from a mile out. There is an incredible balance of weird shit mixed with super catchy motifs and big time grooves.

Foul Play is definitely a suitable title for this EP as @kessleruk has brought the big guns to the tea party for this one. Really getting to the heart of what Holding Hands is all about I love how straight up in the face these bangers are.

Expect a lot of gun fingers and shouts of “this one’s a stinky wiiiiiiinky” when these get dropped in the club. That’s probably the best way of describing the vibe here...

Well it had to happen eventually didn’t it. I have been thinking about releasing a DnB record for a long time but had stalled as I hadn’t been finding myself playing up at that tempo and I always want to be able to play the label records out as much as possible. Nowadays I am so all over the place when it comes to tempo that I could easily find myself reaching for 160-170 tracks and so now seems like the perfect time to release some music up at those speeds.

Although these incredible tracks by @tom-jarmey aka Ocean Stirs are the fastest I have released, they are actually some of the deeper cuts on any of the Holding Hands labels and therefore an ideal fit for Submerged. They are very much led by sub, drums and atmosphere, making them ideal for the dark rooms and big systems that we all love.

Don’t get me wrong! Of course they absolutely move and groove to a wonderful degree. Ocean Stirs has managed to get the balance just right here for dance floor exploration and meditation. Eyes down to the max.

This record is a momentous occasion for me as it is the first release that I have signed from a member of my production tutorial website. This is something I was quietly hoping would come to pass when I started the project but I never knew if it would actually happen. Liebus was sending me tracks to critique as part of a feature on the site and after a batch of them came in that I not only didn’t have any critique for but actually I wanted to ask him how he made them instead, I knew I was onto a winner. I can’t quite believe this is his first release as the tracks sound so mature and incredibly produced but I was never going to think twice about putting them out.

All five tracks are subby, drummy, mind bending workouts from start to finish. Proper cavernous vibes with a dose of potentially too strong an LSD trip mixed in for good measure.  

Not for the faint hearted…

Howdy folks!

It’s been a real long while since I released my last EP on Holding Hands and I am very happy to be back on home turf.

The EP has some electro flavours from me on the first two tracks and then a heavy 2- step number for the third. The fourth track is a remix from Sid Angel (@joey-crouch)and it came about from a remix competition that I ran last year. There was a ton of entries but I loved this one the most as it took things in a totally different direction. This will be Sid Angel’s first release and it’s got a super nice feel to it. Big things coming in the future from him.

I loved so many of the remix entries that I have decided to release a selection of them digitally following the vinyl release as well.

A few months ago I created a remix completion for my latest single Fresh One and I was overjoyed to hear the next level calibre of the entries. I had planned to pick only one winner but then that left so many other great tracks possibly going to waste. 

In the end I thought the best thing to do was to release the best of the rest as a compilation so that you can all enjoy them.

There is a wide variety of styles across the seven tracks so I'm sure you will find at least one that you love.

Desert Sound Colony - Fresh One Remix Competition Compilation

This was another one of those rare moments when I listen to a straight up demo cold and just instantly know that it’s completely and utterly right for the label. Qant ( @qqantt ) served me up some eyes down, impeccably produced bass heavy slices of pie and I was gobbling them down before you could say extra mozzarella.

Big beats, big bass and enough bleep bloops to set up a satellite business.

I first came across Hunter as a member of my production tutorial website a couple of years back. He sent me across these demos and I was totally blown away with them. I loved the feel, the vibe and the weight across all five.

They vary in many ways and traverse the spectrum of underground club music but they all hit hard and are underpinned with some serious bass weight.

Expect to get down hard and jump up high. It’s a rollercoaster for sure.

@tom-jarmey is an absolute wizard on the buttons. That much is patently obvious, and when he sent me over this new set of tracks I was absolutely melting. He manages to just get so much lovely texture in to the music and yet craft it in a way that it absolutely crushes it on the dance floor.

I’ve played these out on some big rigs and I honestly can’t believe how amazing they sound. You have to experience it to believe it really. They hit hard but are also packed full of emotion in a totally un-cheesy way.

HHSUB008 - Tom Jarmey - Crusher EP (Clips)

This EP from German duo @not-even-noticed is a music production lover’s dream. Honestly, the sound design and production levels are just beyond belief in my opinion. Needless to say, they have been on heavy rotation since I first received the demos and they aren’t anywhere close to getting old yet.

They somehow straddle the line between beautiful soundscapes and absolute face melting, eyes rolling back, grabbing the person next to yours’s shoulders heat. Does that even make sense? Well I think you get what I mean.

The EP is out next Friday the 21st.

Dawn Razor / Adam Antine has been sending me music pretty much from the birth of the label and although he had a killer tune on Slam Jams Vol.2 I have always hoped that we would be able to make a full release come together.

Lo and behold he recently sent me a new batch and this time I simply had to say yes. These four are perfect for Submerged. Eyes down and bass heavy business from start to finish. Blending a mix of breakbeat, minimal and house, all are super hypnotic and ideal for the late night session goblins out there.

God, I love it when an EP comes through that just absolutely fits the label to a T. If you have any knowledge of the label at all then I think you could pick any of these four out in a club and guess that they were on Holding Hands.

Pure bass weight swagger is the best way that I can sum it up. Juicy builds that make you want to chew the inside of your mouth off and somehow pull some serious screw face at the same time (quite an image eh?).

Ahhhh the joys of creating a new label! I have started Holding Hands Again to bring to light some records from the past that I adore and think should be made more widely available so that everyone can slam them in the club.

Wiggle is a label that I hold very dear to my heart. It doesn’t need an introduction but suffice to say I play and love a lot of records off this classic label. A Long Weight by Timmy S & JB is probably my favourite release on there and so I am ultra buzzing to be able to announce that it will be the inaugural release on my new imprint.

In my opinion it really sums up the classic Wiggle sound. Squiggly wiggly synths, skittering pacey drums and weird FX. These tracks have been doing the business for over twenty years and I fully expect them to continue to do so for many more decades to come.

This re release has been freshly remastered for maximum boost and it comes with a new acid mix that the guys found when they were looking through their old DATs. Tasty.
