Once again showing their appreciation for forward-thinking music and supporting think-outside-the-box sounds, the latest EP on Hold Youth opens up the boundaries of electronic music and offers something more. 
The opening track Sample'n'909 has been injected with pure funk and sets the scene for the rest of the release, which maintains that groove throughout. Well selected vocals can be found in the soulful harmonising of Those Voices or the smooth-speaking that makes Rainbow Slices the most mellow of the package. Ending the B side with No More Pretty, a joint stripped down to essential kick and high hats, you can feel the full strength of the funk once again as the jazzy keys enter…
S3A is a breakthrough DJ/producer from Paris and resident of the illustrious Concrete parties.

Only three-years-old as a pair, Hold Youth have done pretty well for themselves since merging their talents. 

You may know them individually as Seuil and Le Loup, but their work as a duo has seen them become staples at top Paris venue Rex Club and grab a monthly residency on Rinse FM France, an outlet to showcase their love of fine house cuts and minimal techno of the European variety.

Le Loup is one of those standout names amongst the current crop of young Parisian talent, sweeping the globe with his warm, groove-led productions and dance-inducing sets. A lover of Detroit techno, funk, jazz, and hip-hop, expertly drawing on all facets of house music to create his own fresh and distinct sound.

It’s no surprise he was snapped up by Wolf + Lamb before his 21st birthday to release his debut EP ‘See Line’, nor so that he was later chosen to rework dOP’s ‘After Party’ on Life and Death. As his production style evolved, further notable productions came on the more underground-lead imprints Get The Curse and Eklo, the latter becoming home to the first double vinyl EP ‘4 My Homie’ for both artist and label, and garnering support from the scene’s opinion-leading heads.

In 2011 Le Loup launched Hold Youth with close friend Seuil, an open-minded, vinyl-only label, for DJs, collectors and true music lovers, releasing giants like Rick Wade to newcomers S3A as well as their own material. Also developing the Hold Youth ethos into a DJing partnership, the pair has been educating the ears of the discerning raver from fabric London to Rex Club Paris, where they hold down a residency inviting the likes of Half Hawaii, Nail, Audio Werner or Kyle Hall to share the decks.

Hot in demand as a solo DJ, Le Loup has entertained the dancefloors of DC10 Ibiza, to Club Der Visionaere Berlin to Concrete Paris, as well as regular resident slots for the hedonistic Half Baked London crew, for whom he featured on their newly launched label’s debut EP.

Currently focusing on the managing of Hold Youth label and the ever-refining of his own sounds and sets, it is clear Le Loup has matured from fresh-faced, aspiring artist into an esteemed member of the underground’s elite. Next up, look out for a double EP coming with Seuil on Hold Youth, plus news of a new residency of music and revelry in Paris.

Le Loup first put himself on DJ Mag’s radar as a resident at much-loved London party, Half Baked. We’ve been keen to lock him in for a podcast of his warm, groove-led music ever since.

First released by Wolf+Lamb with his debut EP ‘See Line’ back in 2009, Le Loup has gone on to launch his own Shadow Play label this year, which has already put out music by artists including Chris Carrier and Scott Edward.

His Hold Youth project with close friend and b2b partner, Seuil, had a huge 2017 too, with the pair spinning together under the name at Rex Club in Paris, Gottwood and [ipsə] in Berlin, amongst many others.
