Chris Liebing remakes Emmanuel Top’s iconic ‘Turkish Bazar’. A new version of the 1994 acid rave hit lands on Liebing’s CLR on 20th December 2024.

Chris Liebing’s long-awaited remake of Emmanuel Top’s 1994 classic ‘Turkish Bazar’ arrives on CLR this December. Initially released via the Le Petit Prince label, ‘Turkish Bazar’ is an evergreen club hit, now painstakingly rebuilt by Techno powerhouse Chris Liebing, with each musical element reforged to create an essential new version.

Liebing’s version of ‘Turkish Bazar’ features the instantly recognisable spoken word vocal of the original, while he ups its unmistakable 303 with an additional dose of acid. Raw, unfiltered licks are in tandem with pounding drums as airy pads and dainty sequences aim to soothe dancefloor madness. Extensively road-tested by Chris Liebing and blessed by Emmanuel Top for release via CLR, this is a mammoth revisit that lives up to the original’s timeless appeal.

Shlomi Aber returns to Chris Liebing's CLR. The ‘Limelight’ EP follows up two hugely successful releases on the label and also features a broken Techno mix from Aber.

Shlomi Aber drops his latest ‘Limelight’ EP on CLR this February. He kicks things off with title track,‘Limelight’, a boomy kick drum setting the pace while fizzing synths light up the airwaves, spoken words bringing a sci-fi feel to this strobe-lit classic. Aber then drops a broken mix of ‘Limelight’, scuffing the kicks and bringing a raw funk feel already picked up by the likes of Radio Slave, Josh Wink, Dave Clarke, Alienata, and more. Last is Shlomi Aber’s 'Riot,' an earth-shattering, pure techno sound with rolling drums and sustained chords that will lock dancers in the groove and
slowly melt their minds.

Active since 1994, Be As One boss Shlomi Aber has brought his unique style of Techno to esteemed imprints such as Cocoon, Ovum, Nonplus, Figure, and CLR. Returning to Chris Liebing’s imprint, Aber follows his month-long Beatport chart-topping 2022 ‘Can’t Sleep’ EP and subsequent 2023 ‘Remote 101’ EP with ‘Limelight’
, another versatile package of quality Techno cuts.

The Southern returns to CLR with the ‘B2basic’ EP. The three-track EP includes a remix from Chicagoan Techno legend DJ Rush.

The Southern returns to Chris Liebing’s CLR this March with the ‘B2basic’ EP, following his two-part ‘Particle’ EP on the label in 2024. Up first is title track ‘B2basic’, a fully-charged cut laced with a wigged-out acid line, primed for peak-time club action. Then comes Chicago’s DJ Rush with the remix, a thrashing interpretation defined by layers of syncopated high-hats whilst a brooding synth guides you into a sense of warehouse rave nostalgia. Lastly, ‘Beg It’ works stripped-back, snare-rattling techno loops to create mesmerising space and depth for the closing track.

The Southern’s high-grade techno has gained support from industry heavyweights like Robert Hood, Ben Sims, Amelie Lens, and many more on impressive imprints such as Truncate, On Edge Society, Kneaded Pains, and, of course, CLR, on which he has become one of the label’s leading artists.

It is a balance of label regulars and debutants that represents the past, present, and future, both sonically and through the generational diversity of the artists involved. Across 30 tracks in the digital collection and 24 on four sides of wax, the release explores the full breadth of the Mutual Rytm sound. Driving grooves and relentless percussion set the pace, gradually unfolding into hypnotic and atmospheric passages that invite deeper immersion. Pulsating low-end power alternates with eerie minimalism, while bursts of futuristic energy and cavernous kick drums keep the tension high. Elsewhere, dub textures and moments of introspection provide balance, creating a narrative arc that moves fluidly between intensity and release, atmosphere and tension, darkness and light.

Originally released as a B-side in 2007 on Figure‘s then-sublabel Podium, Len Faki‘s ‚My Black Sheep‘ was one of those rare tracks that unpredictably take on a life of their own. A veritable underground hit, it not only came to define the sound of Len Faki at that time but for many became equally synonymous with the state of the scene in Berlin around that time. Now that ten years have passed since then, we felt it was about time to finally treat the sheep to a fresh shave.

Featuring a variety of vibes, Deetron first takes us for an extended trip along rattling drums, his mantra-like use of the vocal drawing the listener deep into the rabbit hole. Down there things start swirling even more wildly around Jimmy Edgar‘s marimba arps, while Truncate forcefully slaps us back on track.

On the deeper flip side Cleric unexpectedly lays down a distorted barrage of broken beats amidst apocalyptic epic choirs and acid rain. Through the haunted shelters beneath the rubble Matrixxman weaves his subtle and dubbed out yet creepingly effective Isolation Mix.

Coming as a digital-only bonus is Cleric‘s straightforward Y remix - its hard- hitting metallic stabs making for a powerful floor-weapon.

While ‚My Black Sheep‘ already spawned a series of high-profile re-interpretations back in the day, this diverse remix- package successfully places the original within the present context. With this creative cut, the sheep is now ready for another decade‘s run!
