"Burek" being a favorite snack in Croatia, sparked an idea roughly a decade ago when Mario Kolonic aka Pytzek and his partner Mislav Bobic set similar reputation goals but, this time by releasing music they're so passionate about. Basic idea was to press fat beats and hot electronic club tracks on wax, wrapped in plain white paper and served to music-hungry people all around the world.
Over time two sublabels took off. First "Barba", focused on a wider range of techno and electro music and "Pomalo!", providing slo-mo aural pleasures for adults.
Today, BUREK Music stands for quality house, techno, disco, soul and all the in-between genres of electronic music, produced by artists from all over the world and released on wonderfully sounding and looking vinyl.

Kicking 2018 off in style and joining us on our latest celestial expedition, it’s our pleasure to welcome one of Japan’s finest, Chida.

A man who needs little introduction, Chida has been a pioneer of Tokyo’s underground scene since the early 90s and its safe to say he’s one of the most well respected individuals on the planet. His fascinating musical timbres have been carefully crafted for the likes of ESP, Correspondant and Not An Animal, a lot to be credited for and we haven’t even got on to his Mascaras project or label Ene Records. A talented individual. 

As someone who’s known for his marathon DJ sets that reach up to 12 hours and beyond, blasting his audiences light-years away, we thought it would be fitting to have a mix that is no different. A slugging 3 hour glide through a multitude of space waves, reaching that higher state of consciousness. Exuberant tribal twists, cosmological synth waves, zestful acid fluctuations and more await to caress your ear canals.

Imagine this... You're walking through the beautiful Pennines with your mate, a glass of bitter in hand that you've scarpered from the local pub with. Your new trainers are caked in mud but you don't care much; you've got that fresh countryside breeze on your face and it feels really, really good.

You sigh deeply and say to your mate "I'm pretty sure we've peaked, but you know what could make this situation that little bit better?" He shrugs. "A bit of music." But what soundtrack could possibly chime with such beautiful surroundings - both sonically and geographically? You ponder for a moment, then suddenly it comes to you... Some traditional Yorkshire folk song would do the trick!

Well, that's what Krysko promised to deliver when we got him on board for this mix but unfortunately he came back with something completely different...

A fully fledged veteran of the dance and a self-proclaimed Rave Dad, the West Yorkshire-born DJ has held residencies at some of Manchester's most important venues, from Sankeys to Tribal Gathering and The Warehouse Project, where he remains the original and longest standing resident. 

His DJ sets navigate the far corners of house and techno, a lineage that he continues for his 'No Yorkshire Folk Songs' mix - his first recording in years. There might not be any 'On Ilkla Moor Baht'At' edits in sight but this two hour mix shows exactly why he's been in the game for so long...
