Amidst the vast plethora of wonderful things shared by Italy and France, a vivid aural culture that is as cosmopolitan and ancient as their respective histories is definitely one of the most distinctive. Indeed, apart from the shared Latin roots of their languages, incomparably vigorous gastronomic traditions, some of the most stunning visual art known to mankind and the auspicious blessing of the Mediterranean, their respective musical legacies and scenes are among the richest in world: from classical to contemporary schools, from experimental to commercial templates, from avant-garde to postcolonial traditions, from contemplative to danceable formats… And it all comes full circle in the lovely work of this trio of passionate Italian connaisseurs, Pitaya Soundsystem, of which this mix is a spectacular sample.
