In Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Phillip Jeffries, played by David Bowie, suddenly exits an elevator in the Philadelphia FBI office, two years after his disappearance. He hurries to the office of his former superior, Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole and starts raving in a loud and disturbed manner, referring at one stage to Special Agent Cooper and yelling “Who do you think this is, there?”Jeffries goes on to narrate where he has been since his disappearance. He mentions names and incidents that are unfamiliar to those listening. His words are illustrated by the intrusion of a ghost transmission showing a small group of characters, including The Man From Another Place and BOB, in a series of strange rooms.He disappears into thin air once again after announcing “I found something... and then there they were!”Jeffries is frequently mentioned in the 2017 series, which reveals that he was the original leader of the Blue Rose Task Force and was involved in the first Blue Rose case, alongside Cole. An unseen individual identifying as him assigns Ray Monroe to kill Cooper's doppelgänger. Albert Rosenfield also informs Cole that he was contacted by an individual claiming to be Jeffries, which led to the killing of an agent stationed in Colombia. Cole later re-experiences Jeffries' sudden reappearance in a dream and remembers Jeffries' comment about Cooper, implying that Cooper may have been an imposter.With the death of Bowie, Jeffries is depicted as a grey orb right by a giant steaming kettle in a room above the convenience store. Cooper's doppelganger approached it, after receiving info on his whereabouts from Ray Monroe. Dale Cooper later encounters Jeffries to access 1989 to rescue Laura Palmer in Part 17.The soundtrack to Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me was released on Warner Bros. Records on August 11, 1992. It includes music by Angelo Badalamenti, who had composed and conducted the music on the television series and its original soundtrack.In addition to his instrumental compositions, Fire Walk with Me's soundtrack features vocal accompaniment to Badalamenti's songs by jazz vocalist Jimmy Scott and dream pop singer Julee Cruise. Badalamenti performs vocals on "A Real Indication" and "The Black Dog Runs at Night", two songs by the Thought Gang, a musical project between Badalamenti and David Lynch. Lynch wrote the lyrics for several of the soundtrack's songs, including "Sycamore Trees", "Questions in a World of Blue", "A Real Indication" and "The Black Dog Runs at Night", and was the soundtrack's producer alongside Badalamenti.Upon its release, Fire Walk with Me's soundtrack charted in the United States, peaking at number 173 on the Billboard 200. It was nominated for, and later received, the Best Music at the 1992 Saturn Awards and Best Original Score at the Independent Spirit Awards. Soundtrack Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me Expanded,Starring David Bowie

This year's Best of Bootie Mashup feels a bit more special than previous years, mostly because when I look at the producers here, I realize that not only have these people done superlative mashup work in 2021, but most of them are also active participants in our global-yet-still-small mashup scene. 

They aren't just producing tracks in a bubble, trying to get hits with the YouTube or TikTok algorithm. They are collaborating and sharing their love of mashup culture, not with just the world, but with each other, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it be in the ChatPod of our Twitch channel, in the Crumplbangers Discord, or on other social media channels, I haven't felt this sense of kinship with my fellow mashup creators since the early ’00s days of the GYBO message board.

So it's with great excitement that we present this year's collection of mashups of some of the biggest hits of 2021, curated by myself, Jupiter Gatling, and DJ Tyme, with input from some of the other DJs on the Bootie Mashup team, as well from the BootieMashup Twitch ChatPod – in particular, the "mashup roundtable" who participate in my Mashup Listening Party livestream every Wednesday.

David Bowie............Lost Highway is a 1997 neo-noir film directed by David Lynch and co-written by Lynch and Barry Gifford. It stars Bill Pullman, Patricia Arquette, Balthazar Getty, and Robert Blake. Lynch has described it as a "psychogenic fugue" rather than a conventionally logical story. The film's soundtrack, which was produced by Trent Reznor, features an original score by Angelo Badalamenti and Barry Adamson, as well as contributions from artists including David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails and The Smashing Pumpkins . The album reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and reached Gold status in the United States. Celebrating the 25th Anniversary this is a unique edition including 27 bonus tracks
