Holloway - Overtone EP

I recently created a remake of Benga's classic tune Skank. Skank is such a seminal track that has stood the test of time and continues to slap wherever it gets played.

Benga used Music 2000 as a crucial tool in his early music production process. The PlayStation video game offered a wide range of virtual instruments and sound effects, which he used to experiment with different sounds and ideas. The accessibility and creativity offered by Music 2000 allowed him to develop his own unique style, characterised by heavy basslines, intricate rhythms, and futuristic soundscapes.

In this VIP, I went to great lengths to find and recreate the original samples used in the track. This approach has allowed me to bring a new level of authenticity and respect to Benga's classic sound.
