WHATCLASS, the trailblazing platform redefining music learning through artist-led Classes, mentorship, and structured curriculums, has joined forces with iconic DJ and producer Joris Voorn and his label, Spectrum, to offer a select group of emerging, and established, producers the opportunity to release their music on Spectrum.

Voorn, who has collaborated with WHATCLASS to create an exclusive tutorial, curated submissions from the platform's students, ultimately selecting five standout tracks for this debut WHATCLASS compilation. The resulting collection highlights innovative sounds and fresh perspectives from aspiring international artists.

Opening the compilation is Slovenian producer Eskape with 'Lost Desert,' a track that sets the mood with warm pads, wistful melodies, and ethereal vocals - a perfect introduction to our new Spectrum journey. Following is Brazilian duo Fernandez & Silvera with 'Parallel Life,' building on the momentum of their recent Purified signing 'Emptiness.' The duo's track combines delicate synths, flutes, and minimal percussion to create an uplifting, melodic soundscape.

Representing the UK, Jay Lapse raises the energy with 'CB1,' marked by relentless hi-hats, a pounding kick drum, and haunting keys that form a stark, desolate techno soundscape, softened by its eerie strings.

From there, the compilation shifts to a housier vibe with Swedish producer Magnuss and his groovy, deep houser 'I Can Feel It,' followed by the hypnotic, percussive beats of Shombo's 'Feel Ya' - two standout house cuts guaranteed to energise any dance floor and a fitting finale for this debut showcase of exciting talent.

Maybe we are a little biased… but any Hollt record on Zerothree is something to sit back and admire but bring Diana Miro onto that as well and you create something that is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Hollt first released on Zerothree back with his Systems Down/Fusion EP in 2020 which would set the stage for a successful collaboration with the label. The ‘Remember’ artwork is a photograph taken by Kelsey Williamson, featuring the unique underwater landscapes of the crystal-clear fresh water at Kayangan Lake in Coron, Philippines. Kelsey is an adventurer and photographer passionate about exploring the world’s most remote and stunning regions. Her work captures untamed landscapes and underwater wonders, inspiring a deeper connection to the wild and a curiosity for the unknown.

Kayangan Lake, often mistaken for purely freshwater, is actually a mix of rainwater and ocean seepage - making it one of the cleanest and most unique lakes in Asia. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs rising from deep underwater, it’s a vivid reminder of the connection between land and sea. The Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation (@prrcfi) works to protect this balance through coral reef restoration, reforestation and education.

Creation and iteration form the center of Hollt’s drive; whether in the studio creating music, on the workbench iterating on his self-made controllers, coding new DAW plugins or directing one of his live sets. Notes and nodes, mixing and modeling, coding and composing - it really is all the same for the cum-laude conservatory graduate.

In recent years, Hollt, a.k.a. Jeffrey Frugte, has been steadily solidifying his name; merging melodic elements with a defiling energy, creating stories and blending genres. Hailing from the Netherlands, Hollt moves comfortably between both Berlin’s melodic techno scene, resulting in the underground hit ‘Halos’ on Jonas Saalbach & David Guzy’s Radikon, as well as his UK friends leading to BBC Radio One support on ‘Fusion’, released on ZeroThree. With his own label ‘die Stube Records’ he has an outlet that allows for full creative and creator control, resulting in ‘Anomia’, the collaboration with Lake Avalon, and  most recently releasing his EP ‘Philosophy of Time’.

On stage, Hollt creates a world consisting of melodies and techno, either DJ’ing or playing live with the Holltesizer. Heavily supported by the likes of ARTBAT, Mathame, Adriatique, Innellea, Kevin de Vries, Fideles, Joris Voorn, Coeus, Eelke Kleijn, Jonas Saalbach & more, his music is now reaching more people every day in both his worlds; online and offline.

There’s no next steps; just constant creation, iteration and excitement to take you on this journey!
