I realised that life is more made up of chapters, with edges and endings rather than one long yawning event. You can look back at your life and seemingly big players, whole sagas can be reduced to one or two moments and memories.
The inspiration for this song came from playing lots of Resident Evil 4 where when you get to a save point, there's this typewriter with nice plinky music and the screen sort of fades to white. The sense of relief is real. You know that bit is done and now it's all about what lies ahead. It made me think of the snow coming and turning everything to white and where now new tracks can be laid. You get to start afresh. And you can sense when a chapter is coming to a close, you can feel it. And everything fades to white. 

I'd like to think the world is reaching that point right not. Approaching a fade to white. Goodbye Trump, goodbye Covid (with time but at least the light at the end is there now). And with the wintery weather upon us I thought what better time that right now for this song. This strange chapter is coming to an end. The world can fade to white and let's get to start something new.
