December 2019.  A live performance recording of a chamber performance I did a few months before the pandemic shutdowns.  It was a special moment at the time--now, even more so.  Ben, Rebecca, and I played together for the first time as a special thank you concert for friends of the Wolff family. Chamber music at its best--small space, intimate audience, pure joy.

Kirk O'Riordan: Beautiful Nightmares

If you know Davy Rakowski at all, you know that he is an incredibly prolific composer.  After writing 100 études, 100 préludes, and more (!) for solo piano, there are still a few pieces that have not been premiered.  This is one of them.  I am thrilled that I can share this with you. This prélude was supposed to be premiered on March 13, 2020 on my recital to open the Muhlenberg Contemporary Music Festival.  I decided to record part of my program on January 30th, 2021 since we are still unsure when a live performance will be possible. 

This is a performance recording (single take, no edits) and it was recorded by Kirk O'Riordan at Lafayette College on one of my favorite Steinways.

David Rakowski: Prelude #64 "Sepia" (2016)

I was scheduled to premiere this rockin' prelude by David Rakowski on March 13, 2020, but the concert was cancelled hours before.  Since we are still unsure of live performances, I recorded a few pieces including this gem on January 30, 2021. 

I love the "precise, yet cavemannish" performance direction.  I'm thrilled that I can finally share this with others.  Please share freely!
