There was a time a few years ago when I cried to sleep one night having decided to give up on music, because I felt like a failure and like I wasn’t good enough for the industry...

My girl band dreams had come to an end, I was writing songs for people and getting rejected, and it all just HURT.

The truth was, what I had to offer didn’t fit into the world at the time, and I also wasn’t ready for it.

The music inside me needed space to breathe and grow and take shape out of the personal struggles I went through. Yoga, meditation and inner work all helped me to transform the lead that had been weighing me down for years into gold.

One May afternoon last year, I was lying on Hampstead Heath in silence, and I just felt so content. I looked up at the sun, and lyrics started flooding through my veins, almost like I was channelling a message from this powerful golden ball of fire in the sky.

I remember wanting to rush back to write it all down! I sat on the harp and my fingers started playing this melody, which gave me goosebumps... It felt like it came from somewhere else, and I cried again, because I could feel music was coming back to me.

And this time round, I had the tools to bring it to life and offer it to the world; courage, strength, trust in my path and belief in myself.

I was listening to my song the day it released in the kitchen, smiling from ear to ear, and feeling so happy because I don’t care about fame or fortune like maybe I once did, when I believed the bullshit story that that’s what you need to be worthy and to ‘make it’ in this world...

I already feel whole and complete, and it’s from this place that I can offer the music of my soul to the world.

All I really want for this song is for it to find the ears and hearts of those who need it; to inspire you, to empower you, to give you courage and help you remember the light you have inside, so the world can have more of the magic that’s there within you.

Moment With The Sun

I wrote this song to help you remember the loving and knowing inner voice you always have inside you. The moon is a mirror and a portal into ourselves; bringing to the surface what needs to heal and what needs to be released so that we can move forward into the next cycle of our lives.

Lunar

The title of this track is inspired by a personal mantra that got me through a difficult patch a couple of years ago. To remember to breathe slow and deep whilst facing stress and anxiety is a life-saver.

The lyrics are inspired by my 'sleeping' students who always look so peaceful in savasana at the end of the yoga class. 

The piano part is by the talented Shaun Mcmanus, who called his original instrumental 'Manga'.
