One record to highlight in your collection : 
That could change from day to day but one record I don't think I'll ever get sick of listening to, is "Mood 2 Swing-Closer",  the Original Vocal Mix.

One label to highlight : 
I'm slightly biased but I'd have to say Rekids. 
To become a big, well-known label, by releasing so many different types of dance music, everything from downtempo tracks to soulful house to banging techno, all the while keeping the quality so high, is a HUGE achievement.

One club/party to highlight : 
I would say Matiz in São Paulo...kind of a listening bar but also kind of a small club but also a phenomenal cocktail bar but also a great restaurant that turns into a great party. A space run by people who understand...for people who understand.

One track to highlight in the mix : 
The Brand New Heavies - Back To Love (Graeme Park Mix) - one of my all time favourite records...and the lead vocal is actually sung by the drummer ! 

One sentence about the mix : 
As with every set I ever play...it's coming from my record collection and heart, direct to your ears - and I sincerely hope you can dig it.

We're getting into the Summer spirit at SB towers with a cracker of a mix from Croatian DJ & producer Homeboy. The House Is OK label boss has been taking Berlin by storm as a resident at the ever hyped Salon Der Wilden Renate club but his roots run deep on the Croatian festival circuit too. He'll be part of the Sonus Festival this year which is celebrating its 5th Birthday in August. Check this awesome mix out and then come up with any excuse to head out to the Adriatic coastline for beats and sunshine vibes.

I love opening sets.

Opening sets allow the DJ to create the atmosphere for an entire night and are a true challenge (and lost artform) for those DJs, who travel from town to town every weekend playing 2 hour peak-time sets.

Opening sets allow to play tracks (and / or songs) that you usually don't hear in a club when you arrive after a certain time due to the DJs fear of losing people off the dancefloor (so what? :-D ).

For this and other reasons I dedicate this mix to those who tend to come (too) late and to those who come early at the same time and send a huge "THANK YOU!" to those who were participating LIVE in this session. 
Also to those who contributed a few "WHOOHOOOs" in silent passages - one of the many nice things you only get when playing vinyl :)

It was a pleasure seeing the packed floor bouncing...early, did I mention that? 

There is this line in the song "Hello" by The Beloved:

When I first started DJ-ing I was influenced most by the music of my hometown. But second to that, I was obsessed with UK dance music and club culture. I bought every DJ magazine. I listened to every Essential Mix. So when I found out I was going to do the mix, I wanted to put a special focus at certain points on UK dance music - because after all this is for Radio 1.

It was important to me to create a peak time club set because that is what I’m missing most right now.  I wanted to give a snapshot of what you would hear if you heard me in a club today - all the different styles of dance music mixed together.

I only call out 4 “Elliott Edits” in the tracklist because those are the ones I changed the most and have played many times in clubs.  But actually every track on this mix is edited.  Like putting together a puzzle except you can change the shape of the pieces slightly to tell a smoother, more concise, story.

In the “Mix CD” days, DJ’s approached a mix with the same amount of time and effort as an album.  When I do a mix like this (or my Panorama Mix, or my Fabric CD) I hold myself to those same standards, and I hope you can hear that within.
