Label founder Holly Lester pools together a selection of her favourite artists from across the globe to form the first volume in the Duality Trax Visions compilation series.

Bouncing from the U.S to Europe, the VA travels through a multitude of moods and genres across seven tracks - including acid tinged electro from New York, breaks infused garage from Chicago, rave-fuelled house music from Belgium and a pulsating trance-inspired club track from Estonia.

Rotterdam duo Black Cadmium step up first with Meliorate; a dark and rolling tom-filled workout, before Chicago based artist Aguila switches up the mood with their sunny breaks-infused garage jam. Paving the way for another summertime roller, Slump Recordings boss Baby Rollén provides some blissful tech house before Estonian duo Abdul Raeva pick up the pace with trance inspired club weapon Pearlescent. Rising Belgian artist Azo pushes the limits with her unique mashup of fast paced 90’s rave and acid house before Belfast hustler Optmst beautifully rounds things off with the dreamy breakbeats of Umwaya.

Keen to reflect the core ethos of the label, the compilation series name serves as a nod towards her ideals of a more equalised future in electronic music - something which is fittingly demonstrated throughout this stellar lineup.

100% of compilation profits will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, who provide medical care to casualties of war in Gaza, Syria, Yemen and much more. The organisation has also worked tirelessly to provide Covid-19 related aid to countries hit the hardest throughout the pandemic and are currently lobbying for a global waiver of patents on COVID-19 technologies.

Re-imagining vintage club sounds through a contemporary lens, Tifra is no stranger to stretching the electronic music template into new forms and ideas. His left-field house and old-school breaks have found their way onto Gestalt Records and Rough Recordings, and here the producer turns in three cuts of blissed-out electronica, hedonistic progressive and jungle-run club with its sights firmly fixated front left, complete with a wicked remix from one of modern dance music's most reliable names - Roza Terenzi.

‘Plastic Replicant’ is a vocal-laced electro-house roller that takes inspiration from the golden-era of 90s electronic music and fuses it with the organic, multi-genre blends of the current gen. The ravey continuum is laced with high-frequency vocal stabs and deep basslines designed for a heads-down approach on the dancefloor, before ‘Entomology’ captures the playful side of the club with its shape-shifting acid-lines, trance-licked melodies and kaleidoscopic blend of colour, feeling and mood.

Out of the club and onto the beach, ‘International Waters’ is a trip-hop inspired, downtempo dub that will delight ambient and laid-back electronic-revelers with its chirpsing birds and aqua-like aesthetic, before Roza keeps the dualism alive with a stripped-back jungle flip of the original; the perfect score for the perfect daydream.

The fourth EP in the Duality Trax series comes from Estonia based artists Steffan Todorović and Joonas Arro under their Abdul Raeva alias. 

It’s a sonic match-made-in-heaven, with both contributing artists and label head sharing an admiration for bouncy, fun and deep club music that dangles its legs on the border of emotionality without taking itself too seriously. 

Ear-wriggling acid lines and psychedelic atmospherics balance a gritty and driving drum rhythm across a kaleidoscopic six minutes in the lead track 'Atlas Corporation', before ‘Death Race’ blends techy dub with Abdul Raeva’s signature proggy sauce, best played as the sun begins to rise again. 

Staying true to the concepts of gender and sonic duality, the remix comes from Australian DJ and Pure Space-founder Andy Garvey who turns in a breakbeat-laden, broken acid-techno rendition of the A2, before we come to a meditative close with the tropical, downtempo sounds of ‘Guardian of the Vault’.

Holly Lester’s Duality Trax Label has quickly become synonymous for its blend of future facing sonics and mind-warping melodies, served together with a healthy dose of nostalgia. A label just as focused on making dancefloor destroyers as it is exploring left-leaning, personal projects, it’s within this duality where the label has found its success, never afraid to shy away from b side oddities or tracks edging more towards good-old-fashioned-fun.

DUALITY5 steers towards the latter, with Manchester based DJ & producer Aiden Francis providing the serotonin on tap with three lively dancefloor cuts, including a huge remix from Italy’s Matisa. Aiden had a big 2022, releasing music on Magic Carpet, Gestalt and beloved music platform and label Houseum, solidifying himself as one to watch in the euphoric unity of house, trance and techno.

Title track ‘Plastic Fantasy’ is the star of the show, a suitably sassy roller that places everyone's favorite blonde icon front left of the speakers. Subtle old school strings contrast with alien electronics, providing familiarity in an otherwise unfamiliar world. A bubble-gum vocal then rolls in cheekily over a driving bassline and dynamic percussion  - used in a way I’m not sure the original creators had in mind. ‘Future Proof’ meanwhile demonstrates Aidens’ knack for contemporary progressive house music. With warm pads, swirling sonic textures and moments of blissful euphoria, it’s energetic enough to move a dancefloor, but gentle enough for home listening too.

The record comes to a close with ‘Aquamarine’, with Aiden opting in favour of free flowing breakbeats and mind expanding synths, together radiating a feeling of warmth and hope for days to come. Italian DJ and producer Matisa is on hand to round the EP off with a bass-heavy rendition of ‘Plastic Fantasy’ a no-holds-barred speed garage licked stomper, with the power to lure smokers back inside the club with their feet firmly planted on the dancefloor.

We are delighted to welcome Haŵs boss Tywi to Duality Trax for his first full length EP, with a huge remix coming from one of the most in demand artists right now - Maruwa.

For the first time, the A side delves into full on trance territory, turning the intensity levels up while paying homage to both label owner and artist’s early musical influences. Title track ‘Reality Checkpoint’ thunders in with sonics that feel as if they’ve been projected from space in a kaleidoscopic mind-warping ride. A child of the ‘90s, Maruwa combines her classically trained ear with the nostalgia of her upbringing in the remix; channeling early trance records and deep, chugging rhythms into a wave of euphoria fit for peak-time. 

The flip serves as a more introspective dancefloor experience, showcasing the duality within Tywi’s own tastes and production style.  ‘Spellbound’ feels like a guided tour around the cosmos sat beside trusted travellers, with hypnotic synths that feel both effortless and light. As our tour guide brings us towards our final destination, the EP closes out with ‘Laws Of Motion’, building slowly with shades of leafy greens and deep oceanic blues as it gently brings us back down to earth.

Holly Lester’s Duality Trax imprint continues its mission to find balance within the music industry by bridging gender gaps and pushing the boundaries of contemporary club music. 

The next release sees the label's second VA come to fruition, focusing on six emerging and established artists that are all making their mark within their respective cities and beyond. 

Glasgow hero and resident of dance music institution Sub Club Stevie Cox opens things up on her first ever solo outing, easing us gently in with a hypnotizing mesh of ethereal synths and dynamic drum programming akin to the carefully constructed sets she has become known and loved for. Stones Taro, a pioneering force behind Kyoto's evolving electronic scene, brings his signature touch to ‘Iron Door’ and smoothly bridges the gap between UKG, breaks and house before rising Aussie producer DAWS serves a nostalgic blend of dreamy chords, jacking percussion and bumping bass. Up next, Bsample king Gallegos turns in a raw and crunchy acid workout that is sure to raise the roof with adrenaline inducing risers aplenty.

The VA takes a trippy left turn with Planet Euphorique and Craigie Knowes affiliate emkay, in a perception altering display of warping synths, shimmering gated vocals and loose drum patterns before rising star Body Clinic rounds things off. Fusing DnB and prog  in ‘159 Revolutions Per Minute’ against a futuristic backdrop, the young Northern Irish producer perfectly demonstrates the interwoven themes and concepts that the label seeks to platform.

Underground stalwarts Voodoos & Taboos make their Duality Trax debut alongside a remix from rising talent Bertie, set to drop on November 8th. Now on its seventh release, Holly Lester’s vinyl imprint blends seasoned pioneers with the next generation of producers.

A serendipitous moment at London’s E1 in 2023 was the genesis for the labels latest release, when DT label head Holly Lester unknowingly dropped a Voodoos & Taboos track only for the duo to walk in mid-way. Already known for their standout releases on iconic labels like Phonica, Bordello a Parigi, and Palms Trax's CWPT, this chance encounter sparked a creative connection between Holly and the pair.

‘Time Out’ kicks things off with swirling synths and the duo's signature alien electronics, set to a playful breaks infused rhythm and morphing bassline, as command and control rings out overhead. ‘Endless Game’ comes with the usual V&T trimmings; an infectious bassline and with a scattering of curious sounds and samples, with a healthy dose of italo-inspired groove - the type of track reserved for bringing a dash of joy to the dancefloor amidst a heads down body-moving groove.

On the B-side, Australian newcomer Bertie steps up with her remix of ‘Time Out’, following her breakout EP and high-profile remix by Ciel. In a short space of time, Bertie has already developed a signature sound injecting her productions with nostalgic 90s house and contemporary subtext; glued together by crunchy drums and a penchant for wide-eyed rhythms. Sticking to her guns, Bertie’s flip of ‘Time Out’ packs a serious punch, showing why she’s an artist on the rise.

The EP closes out with the psychedelic ‘All Action’ with its vocoder vocal samples, bubbling acid and teleporting top-lines. One of the most notable features of the duo's music is their ability to let things evolve over time, their music often accompanied by strong storytelling, an art that has been almost lost in today’s era of instant gratification; their instrumentation often taking on a life form of their own and dosed with surprises.

French talent Framboisier lands on the eighth Duality Trax release this August with his debut EP Planetary Vision, backed by a remix from breakbeat queen Angel D’lite.  Landing just in time for the height of summer, the release has already garnered support from scene heavyweights Spray, Job Jobse and James Zabiela. 

The Grenoble-based artist known as Framboisier has seen his profile steadily rise in the last two years, with his 90s-inspired house sound lighting up labels like Shuffle Valley, Backspin and Gestalt. It was through the latter and a back-to-back set at Edinburgh’s legendary Sneaky Pete’s with Gestalt founder Steffan Todorović that label boss Holly Lester first encountered Framboisier’s music - instantly recognising its place on Duality Trax.

The title track Planetary Vision kicks off the EP with a rush of prog-house nostalgia. Contemplative pads and shimmering synths verge with driving percussion and a bouncing Juno bassline, creating brief moments of euphoria before slamming back in for a powerful peak-time reprise. Memory Access follows with sun-drenched textures and a rolling groove - locking into a deep, introspective dancefloor moment led by an infectious bassline.

The B-side shifts gears with Neuro System, a deep house excursion driven by sweeping pads, subtle melodies and a hypnotic low-end. Rounding off the EP, Angel D’lite brings her signature rave energy to a remix of Memory Access, flipping it into a breakbeat-heavy workout packed with amen breaks, playful spinbacks, and cheeky vocal chops.

Committed to the preservation of vinyl and championing both emerging and established artists since its inception, DUALITY8 will see a vinyl-first release on August 8th, with digital formats arriving later.

Duality Trax welcomes the newly formed 9 Hours Ahead to the label with their debut release, complete with a remix from progressive royalty Bliss Inc.

Landing in early 2026, Smooth Sailing traces a blissed-out sonic journey from the combined minds of San Francisco’s Namastrange and Amsterdam’s Breeze. Their cross-continental connection threads throughout the EP, with subtle nods to the vast ocean that separates them.

The title track opens the release with a gentle drift: airy synths, angelic pads, and tribal percussion guiding listeners steadily out to sea. Meridian Space picks up the momentum, driven by a pulsating, ever-expanding bassline. Namastrange’s whispered vocals weave between swelling orchestral pads, before the track mutates into a mind-bending acid line - perfect for a heads-down, eyes-closed dancefloor moment.

The B-side turns up the energy with Transatlantic Dreams, a dancefloor-minded cut that nods to the golden era of San Francisco progressive and the Hardkiss legacy. Lush piano melodies, breakbeat interludes, rave stabs, and glimmering gated vocals collide in a warm, nostalgic swirl.

Closing the EP, Bliss Inc. delivers a psy-tinged reinterpretation of Meridian Space - a dark, brooding acid workout that pulls the original into deeper, murkier waters.

Across three tracks Fio Fa illustrates why he is one of the most vibrant artists to watch, exploring a blend of progressive and rave inspired techno through to down tempo cuts. Violet flips the unhurried aesthetic of 'Transcending Into Nonsense' in favour of stirring breakbeat rhythms, twinkling soundscapes and calming melodies.

Cromie explores a pool of moods and aesthetics across three tracks; twisting and bending the standard house template into a string of exciting new shapes and sounds. Roxymores refreshing take on the fringes between house and techno are as perceptible as ever, floating effortlessly between genres, exploring new possibilities and sounds.
