With a classical musuic education in his back and the vision of harmony-laden dance music in front of his eyes, up-and-coming producer Holly North set out for a voyage of discovery. Driven by the wind of inspiration he crossed from the world of Melodic Techno to the realms of Deep House and followed the trancy lure of the sirens. Here's a first impression of his Odyssey, which is the title of his forthcoming debut album. Also aboard is Mollono.Bass with his epic dream of a remix.

Anfang 2023 hat das female electronic-pop-Duo UMME BLOCK sein zweites Album "state of LIMBO" veröffentlicht. Nachdem es im Januar zunächst nur physisch auf Vinyl und CD erschien, folgte im März der digitale Release. Nun wird "state of LIMBO" Track by Track von verschiedenen Artists neu bearbeitet und Remixe/Reworks veröffentlicht. Den Anfang macht der elektronische Musiker und Live-Act Holly North (Berlin/Paris), der aus dem eher ruhigeren Originaltrack getreu seines mittlerweile in der Szene geschätzten Stils einen treibenden und dennoch melodisch-verträumten elektronischen Pop-Track erschaffen hat. Hollys Rework, das bei UMME BLOCK längst in Dauerschleife läuft, ist der perfekte Soundtrack zu jener lauen Sommernacht, an die wir uns noch lange zurückerinnern möchten. Die Single PHOENIX (Holly North Rework) erscheint am 28.07. auf allen Plattformen.

Born 1996 in Hamburg, Christopher soon got introduced to music. Already with the tender age of 7 he took his first Cello lessons which he kept up until to this point. Through his early classical musical education he quickly was able to develop his musical competence.

When he was 14 years old he started playing electronic bass, performing with bands and ensembles. Living and traveling abroad, Christopher made his first experiences with electronic music when he decided to take piano lessons in order to achieve a better theoretical background of the things he intuitively had done over a decade.

As his fascination for composing songs and curiosity about electronic music grew, he began to produce own tracks on the computer. With the age of 17 he sent his first arrangements to friends and other musicians who encouraged him to continue. When Christopher finished high-school, in Summer 2014, he moved to Berlin where he ever more discovered and evolved his new passion which resulted in his first EP titled: "Copresence".

How long will youth be? Although for me it's never really clear where an initial idea will take me eventually, I always wanted to create something that would correspond to the nostalgic feeling of being young and careless, or better: carefree. As for ‘Youth', I right away was hooked with the melody in combination with the bassline. This then made me want to create a purely melodically driven, almost triumphant piece that - no matter where and when it would be played - would transport a certain liberating feeling and I hope everyone can relate to it's comfortable yet demanding atmosphere. I wish it to make us thoughtful and losing thoughts at the same time. Let's think about moments in the past that were beautiful enough to shape the ones in the future. ‘Youth’, for all the ambivalences and ambiguities it stands for, is never over!
