When Ben Affleck was named to play the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice many were skeptical of the Academy Winning director/writer on taking over the iconic role from Christian Bale. Even Affleck was wary donning on the mask and cape and after talking with Zack Snyder he still had questions about the role.

It wasn’t until filming that Affleck started to fully appreciate the creative synthesis between Snyder’s visual aesthetic and Frank Miller’s legendary take on the world weary Dark Knight. What also aided in Affleck’s confidence came from a chance encounter he and his son had with Bale at a costume store.
